Ryan Dean Impersonating Dan Dubois of Canadian Combat Coalition.... Badly

A few weeks back Carl Fleury in Alberta posted to Facebook announcing that he was the new head of the Alberta branch of the Canadian Combat Coalition and that they were recruiting in the province:


This might be somewhat awkward considering the CCC was originally founded by Ryan Dean from Alberta and that Dean had been ousted from his own hate "patriot" group by the Ontario branch:


Fleury's involvement in the CCC is also of some interest considering his participation in some of the early WCAI and and CCC rallies in Calgary when the CCC was lead by Dean.

To say that Dean didn't deal well with the coup and subsequent banishment from the group he founded and lead would be an understatement. And while he immediately formed another group with an equally ridiculous name (North American Freedom Fighters) it appears that he is unable to let the slight he feels go as the following video (which may also serve as a preview of the remainder of this post) indicates:


One thing Ryan Dean has become well known for is creation of fake web posts in an effort to undermine the people he feels have wronged him or the movement he is a part of. But becuse he is really good at making enemies across the spectrum, Dean is as likely to target his fellow bigots as he is anti-fascists with these often very transparent efforts.

Recently ARC received the following information from someone claiming to have dirt on Dan Dubois, the current leader of the CCC (based in Ontario) who initiated the coup that forced Dean out:


At the same time, direct messages allegedly written by Dubois and sent to Dean have been making the rounds online. In those messages Dubois tears down his ideological allies and makes overtly racist comments:




The thing is, it seems pretty clear that Dean himself is both the sender and recipient of those messages and that Dean further edited the screen shots to implicate Dubois:

Anti-Government Rally in Calgary August 27: Canadian Combat Coalition Collapse and III% Schism

Another day, another futile and rather impotent rally.

The North American Freedom Fighter (formerly the Canadian Combat Coalition, but I'll get to that soon enough) is planning a rally for August 27 because they really don't have anything better to do with their time apparently:

The Clann Agreement to Speak to Members of Al Rashid Mosque Made in Bad Faith

Last week the Clann which is an amalgam of the Wolves of Odin (which was formerly the Soldiers of Odin), Patriot Pride Canada, Canadian Infidels, Odin's Heathens, and a partridge in a pear tree harassed members of an Edmonton mosque. They claimed to be innocent lambs there only to ask questions and to use the toilet, though it seems rather odd that someone would preemptively broadcast his visit to said toilet and dare the media to report on it.... almost as if it was all a ruse to create both controversy and plausible deniability:

It is also hard to believe that they were the open-minded fellas they claimed to have been who simply wanted to discuss a holy book when one of the photos they proudly posted included this one....


.... as well as posting images such as this on your Twitter account three days later....


.... and posting a map of Edmonton-area mosques three days prior to the visit....


.... and finally a call to recruit "surveillance units and "gray men" to support the cause:

Ryan Dean really wants to play at being a soldier, though he would
never pass the physical or any of the psychological tests. 

The video that Tyson Hunt posted of the encounter outside Al Rashid Mosque was rather interesting. Both Hunt and Dean appear to believe that the video made them look reasonable and the two men speaking to them appear like fanatics:

In fact, the video posted by Hunt indicates a spectacular amount of patience on the part of the two men who spoke to Hunt and Dean:


Of course, Ryan Dean (who operates the Clann Twitter account) considers that they are the REAL victims because they are white.... all the while accusing the people they harassed at Al Rashid Mosque of playing the victim card:



And of course, they are also angry at the media for reporting on the story in a way that didn't make them appear as if they were the heroes of the story:

Ryan Dean's Bizarre Leap of Logic

There was a time when I or the other writers (when there were other writers) would post "fan mail" from our detractors because it was funny as hell. I haven't done so in a while, and though this doesn't necessarily constitute "fan mail" it is indeed funny as hell.

Sometimes, one enjoys a good laugh.

I started ARC almost 10 years ago and have been involved in some sort of anti-racist work and activism for about two decades so by this point there's not a hell of a lot that surprises me. So I guess I owe some kudos to Ryan Dean, because his profound lack of self-awareness and a delusional sense of accomplishment that makes even the Goudreau appear reflective and lucid by comparison is somewhat novel.

ARC readers will remember the article posted on September 2 in which I briefly discussed Ryan Dean's much ballyhooed "Operation Boom." Dean, in concert with the leadership of the WCAI, resurrected the "Guardians of Alberta" name and claimed to be holding an anti-Muslim rally at Calgary City Hall. A number of individuals and groups showed up to oppose the group. The police arrived for form a barrier between the protesters and anti-protesters. However in the end, there were no anti-Muslim protesters who showed up. Instead, Dean began bragging about how he embarrassed the counter protesters for.... reasons I guess? I'm still not entirely clear, though the fact that no anti-Muslim protesters showed up costing the city $50,000 proved definitively that "patriots" in fact "owned the streets."

I think that's what he meant? Or maybe since he wrote "who's street" he thinks that there's someone names Patriot Streets that people should be looking for in the city:

September 2019 Bits and Bites: CNP and PPC Edition

It has now over a week since ARC published the list of Canadian Nationalist Party members which include such individuals as neo-Nazi Paul Fromm, neo-Nazi and former Moose Jaw Soldiers of Odin chapter leader Jody Issel, and Islamophobe and bigot Kevin Johnston. Due to the major national story that broke last week concerning Justin Trudeau the CNP list drop understandably didn't get a lot of coverage initially, however it seems that some journalists have taken another look at the story:


Earlier this week CNP founder and leader Travis Patron posted the list himself having lifted it directly from the ARC blog in an ill-advised display of bravado. That was probably a poor decision especially considering the fact that Patron's own dishonesty may very well get his party deregistered:



But ARC wasn't the only news source (and we are a news source) that posted a membership list:


At the same time ARC was working on our story concerning the CNP list, Andew Russell and Stewart Bell were working on their story concerning the PPC list. Among the members of the PPC were a neo-Nazi and a former chapter leader of the Soldiers of Odin:





I find this all very distressing since Bernier insists there are no racists in his party and that racists aren't accepted:




Oh.... right.... I forgot about all the racism.

I also can't help note that there is less than six degrees of separation between the PPC and the CNP:




But there was a third person found on the PPC list who has been someone we've been keeping track for a while though we never knew her real name.... until now:



Our readers knew her as "Jenny Hill" but Pegida Canada's founder's real name is Janice Bultje. The folks with The Scaffold did some incredible investigative journalism in tracking down the identity of Ms. Bultje:
“Month after month we’ve seen “Jenny Hill”, who we now know as Janice Bultje, organizing and headlining hate-rallies in Toronto. Many of these rallies have turned violent. Bultje has consistently engaged in the wilful promotion of hatred against Muslims in Canada and has brought a collection of far-right groups and individuals together for this purpose. It’s good to finally know more about the organizer behind these rallies” said an activist with a Toronto-based anti-racist group who spoke to The Scaffold on condition of anonymity. “She has invested a lot of effort in maintaining her anonymity. Even reporters like Sue Ann-Levy, writing for the Toronto Sun, have used her alias “Jenny Hill” when quoting her for publication.” 
Bultje was identified as a result of a major donation her husband Phil Bultje made on behalf of his Chatham-Kent construction company, Southwestern Construction Inc. to Eben-Ezer Chistian School, helping to pay in part for a $1.2 million gymnasium expansion, as reported by Chatham Daily News. A photo of Bultje was published online, alongside her husband in an article about the gymnasium’s completion. Phil Bultje is also the Chair of the Eben-Ezer school’s board of directors.
In fact not long before Bultje was identified as the leader of Pegida Canada, one of the hate group's supporters was convicted of an assault that took place during a Pegida rally. Since being identified Bultje is now claiming that she is being threatened and harassed which, in the parlance of the far right, likely means she has been denounced and criticized for her bigotry and while groups like Pegida like to dish it out they certainly can't take it themselves.

In other tangential PPC news, Ryan Dean and his goof troop has been an issue again:




These photos are from last November when Dean and co. attended a PPC event sponsored by Ezra Levant's Rebel Media (Dean was given press credentials).

Lately I've avoided writing about Dean since he's someone who does most of the things he does for attention because he wasn't hugged as a child. However recent events have caused me to grudgingly turn my attention back to him.

Earlier this month he began harassing Queerflex, a safe space for members of the LFBTQ community to work out. Dean who is also spectacularly homophobic had started accusing Queerflex of "associating with Antifa extremists" which in Dean's mind is essentially anyone he decides to beef with for any reason. Of course he can't actually back up this claim....



.... but then Dean has not been especially concerned for such trivialities as "proof" before.

Duncan Kinney of Progress Alberta discussed this and other Dean-related issues on The Progress Report podcast (giving a nice little shout-out to yours truly) with Katie Cutting, Bridget Stirling, and Mack Lamoureux. As of September 13 the police have been investigating Dean's blog posts targeting the gym. In the meantime however Queerflex has temporarily closed down, suspending classes and memberships and enacting greater security measures:





Dean and company also made news this past Sunday when he and his goof troop harassed participants of a climate crisis rally specifically targeting FNMI peoples:

At one point, CTV News Edmonton captured video of a man appearing to mock an Indigenous dance, while drummers and singers performed.
The same man was also heard yelling, “Make Canada great again,” during an Indigenous prayer. 
He later identified himself to CTV News Edmonton as Mike Kirk. 
“There’s a theory that Europeans stole this land. And I find that absolutely ridiculous,” said Kirk, who denied he was mocking the Indigenous dance, but acknowledged he shouted out during the prayer. 
“It got quiet and I got the idea,” he said.
Kirk has found his way onto the blog a number of times including when as a member of the SoO he attended a UCP event.

Now apparently Dean has gotten it into his head that threatening a LGBTQ friendly gym and harassing indigenous dancers makes him a journalist. As such this week he attempted to make some coin:

Oh, and then there's his continued harassment of his children's elementary school from which he's currently not allowed to enter as he will be charged with trespassing.

Finally Chris Vanderweide continues to happily relive what is apparently the high point in his life when he (a) sucker punched and blind-sided (using a helmet as a weapon) counter-protesters who were protecting a Pride event in Hamilton from the hate groups (including CNP members) with whom he was associated with and (b) engaged in what appears to have been a premeditated attack on other counter-protesters at the Eaton's Centre after a Pegida rally. It is clear that he needs to be reminded of the narrative they are pushing that they were the victims given how happy he is remember bashing people with a helmet:


I would remind readers that he was arrested for the incident in Hamilton but not the incident in Toronto.

Joey Deluca of WCAI Planning Rally in Edmonton on March 29. He Should Be Prepared O Be Laughed At.... Again

Sometimes I come across information in a rather round-about way. For example years ago I found myself reading an article on Wikipedia and realized that I had forgotten how I had gotten there. I just started clicking links from the original piece I had been looking up so I had to backtrack. FYI, one can get to an Asian warlord of the 13th century by originally looking up information on an actor who starred in a 1990s medical drama in 12 clicks. 

Such is the case with this:


But lets start and the beginning which was about three weeks ago.

I hadn't been looking at posts on Stormfront in some time so I decided to see what was new. Truth be told, not much. A few of the usual suspects remain posting in the Canadian section, but for all intents and purposes it is a bit of a ghost town there. Still, one post by Bill Noble caught my attention:


I had known that George Burdi had come out as a white nationalist after close to two decades of claiming to have rejected the ideology in part due to his stint in prison. I was genuinely saddened when I learned this because a big part of the reason I do this is because of the hope that people can change. I still believe this to be true, but one has to want to change and I don't think Burdi really did despite his claims he did.

In any case, it didn't take long for Kevin "No Show" Goudreau to offer his $0.02. (incidentally, he appears to have failed to show up at a March 21 rally he claimed to have organized; I know you're as surprised as I am).

Where No Show earned his nickname.

Goudreau is a narcissistic nobody who likes to present himself as the nexus of the white nationalist movement during the past 30 years based primarily on his 4 second appearance in the documentary "Hearts of Hate" and decades later an appearance in the "National Post." And of course in his response he Goudreaus all over the place:





Goudreau was called out by someone on the forum because even some boneheads know a bullshitter when they come across one:



We also had an appearance from Tom Trenerry:


Trenerry hadn't posted on SF for at least 10 years by by count, but back when he was hanging out with the Aryan Guard/Blood & Honour he was a frequent posted using numerous usernames as he was frequently being banned for threatening other forum members. He hadn't been in ARC's sights for years until his association with the reactionary Yellow Vests protests and shacking up with Dara "Nazi Mom" Graham:


Still, it was funny to read this since not long ago Trenerry and Goudreau seemed to get along:


It goes without saying that Trenerry also isn't a fan of ARC:


However his post on SF mentioning Joey Deluca and the Worldwide Coalition Against Islam and this post on Twitter reminded me....

Guest Article: Schism in Edmonton Reactionary Yellow Vest Protest

I admit that I haven't been following the various reactionary Yellow Vest protests in every community where they are occurring unless something jumps out at me (like the participation of former Aryan Guard member and supporter Tom Trenerry and Dara Graham respectively). So on January 5 when the Yellow Vesters arrived at Churchill Square and the Edmonton Legislature for their weekly whine, I didn't pay all that much attention other than to note that their numbers had declined.

Seems I missed something rather significant as the individuals counter protesting observed and have kindly shared with ARC. Seems that Ryan Dean is continuing to be a glorious dumpster fire:
On January 5th, there were two rallies planned for Edmonton. The first was at the Legislature and the second was at Sir Winston Churchill Square. A few days before, we became aware that Ryan Dean (Odin's Heathens/Canadian Infidels/III%/PATRIOT PRIDE CANADA WIDE) was planning a counter-protest for the Churchill Square event because of an apparent issue with Stephen Garvey and the National Citizens Alliance (NCA).
We sent a small fraction of our group to scope out the Legislature rally because we had decided to focus our organizing on counter-protesting the Churchill Square rally. Some stayed a safe distance back while another group of us tried to get a bit closer to hear more clearly what was being said and to get a sense of the size of the crowd. We were immediately confronted by someone from the rally who greeted us with homophobia, misogyny, and a question about a permit. When the cops came, he claimed we were invading his space.
We didn't make it much further before being met with a police line and a line of Nouns of Odin [NOTE: "Nouns of Odin" is a term I'm definitely using this in the future!]. There was probably a dozen or so rally attendees who stopped paying attention to the speeches and focused their attention on us. Three yellow vests approached us from behind, holding up anti-UN and pro-pipeline signs. When the cops told them they needed to approach the rally from the other side, the approaching yellow vests became annoyed.
We stuck around for a few more minutes before deciding to leave and organize for the Churchill Square event. The Nouns of Odin/Canadian Infidels quickly declared this a victory over Antifa.

Upon arriving at Churchill Square, we were surprised at how few people were there. Stephen Garvey, someone in a yellow vest, and a handful of cops.
A few more yellow vests and even more cops showed up, but the event seemed to be running very late.


Our numbers were greater and the decision was made to block the Square's Happy Wall. Garvey and Friends had changed the message on the wall to read "Broke No Jobs". While this is a fair point, it was being said insincerely by fascists for the sake of whipping their yellow vest fodder into a frenzy. The message on the wall was changed to "No Hate".

We also decided to take a different approach for this counter-protest. Someone made bingo cards containing predicted talking points and conspiracy theories. Instead of trying to drown out Stephen Garvey and the liberal cast of people he invited to speak, we let them talk so that we could hear their points in order to mark our bingo cards. We made noise too, of course, but it was much less constant than past counter-protests. 
Garvey engaged in some theatrics. He produced a plunger and suggested that everyone needs to become a plumber in 2019 because Canada has become a clogged toilet. He repeated the same points many times and we eventually yelled at him to wrap it up and move along because we still had some unmarked spots on our cards. 
A man was invited to the podium to speak. He spoke to the counter-protest and told us the communists were not going to protect LGBTQ rights. He also bragged about how many of his fellow United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters members (Local 488) he was able to bring out for the yellow vest side. He then said that the movement had become contaminated and that he could no longer take part. The man speaking then walked off with the Nouns of Odin. 

This, it turns out, was the counter-protest orchestrated by Ryan Dean. Reading the notifications on the event page reveals the problems Dean has with Garvey: 1) Garvey thinks Canada should accept more Syrian refugees; 2) Garvey has an interest in the Muslim Brotherhood which was somehow shown by him inviting a Muslim Student Association to an anti-Islam rally; and 3) the NCA has ties to a neo-Nazi. This is especially interesting since the Soldiers of Odin was founded by a neo-Nazi and the now defunct/renamed Edmonton branch has close ties to C3 in Edmonton, who Dean has called cop callers and snitches.
In a post on PATRIOT PRIDE CANADA WIDE, we can see that Dean also has a problem with Garvey being a politician.

Those who have followed the trajectory of the Soldiers of Odin in Edmonton know that they are now called the Wolves of Odin/Canadian Infidels due to the founder of the Soldiers of Odin giving them the choice of politics or the Soldiers of Odin. While Tyson Hunt, the head of the Edmonton chapter, said he was choosing Soldiers of Odin over politics, other Canadian branches believed too much damage had already been done. In an interview with Vice, Hunt claimed he was happy to leave the Soldiers of Odin because he started to question that group's racism. 
I can't say for certain what we witnessed when the yellow vests splintered at Churchill Square, but it seems to be two neo-Nazis fighting over who will get to use the yellow vest protestors as resources to bolster their numbers.
A reminder that "Huck Greg" (or "Greg Huck") is one of Ryan Dean's (convicted on domestic assault charges) more recent pseudonyms:

None of this is entirely surprising as racists are often also misanthropes in general who can't even stand each other.

We'll see where all this leads to. If past is prologue, it will probably result in further fracturing amongst the already fractured groups which will further result in more (but smaller) groups that, in turn, will also fracture.

And these people believe they are leaders of men.
