This past Friday, Richard Warman files a claim seeking $500,000.00 in damages against a number of Canwest employees and companies in response to a defamatory article written by Walker Morrow in the “Cowichan Valley Citizen” which falsely alleged all sorts of malfeasance on the part of Mr. Warman.
And then Canwest filed for bankruptcy protection. Coincidence?
Now we’ll wait for the crying and gnashing of teeth from the speechies.

I don't think the two issues are necessarily connected. Also unless Canwest as a corporation completely dissolves, I believe that it just carries on like a business contract already in progress if and when the new people take over.
You're probably right, but it doesn't hurt to have a little fun at their expense.
Would be interested in your source on the five hundred grand figure - I'm assuming it was a little birdie? ;)
We have many, many little birdies Mr. Morrow.
Delightful little things, aren't they?
Great work!
Suing children and bankrupts...but, of course, Lucy has to take his best shot.
Like it or not, dont fuck with Dick Warman. You will probably lose. Incidentally, I read the Morrow article. Reading toilet paper is more interesting.
500K ain't going to sink CanWest.
Anonymous: At this point it would seem that having to pay full price for a Tom Horton's double double would sink Canwest.
jaycurrie: We had a feeling that you were a regular reader. Thanks for the support there champ!
Walker Morrow: Absolutely. Exquisite plumage.
I see the numbwits @ FD have wasted no time adding more invective and malice to Warman's libel action against them by their talk about this Morrow matter again today.
Seems to be the fashion to complain about "suing children" if you don't like the complainant.
Of course in the real world, if somebody's kid causes damage then it becomes a grown-up game very quickly.
Just like if Junior crashed the hypothetical family car into a bus.
Coincidence. This sort of thing is why newspapers have liability insurance. But it certainly doesn't help the chain's market value.
Any news on Warman's libel suit against Ezra Lerant?
