Thanks to the hard work of our readers, we were able to determine the store that Martin was sieg heiling in front of after burning the flag that once was found on the outside wall. We at the ARC Collective (trademark pending) then set about finding where Martin lived, a location which turned out to be only a few blocks from the store he and his friends continually vandalized (and yes, we have more specific locations that were not published here).
At that point we contacted both the police and Alex, the proprietor of the store. Alex was very appreciative of our assistance and forwarded the information we had sent him to the officer investigating the case.
That was in March.
In order to determine the progress of the case, we contacted Alex on Wednesday. Alex wrote back to us and let us know that the Toronto police reassigned the case to the Hate Crimes Division. However, we also learned from Alex that the reassignment occurred more than two months ago and he had yet to be contacted by the new investigators. In the meantime, Martin, Benson and the others who were involved in the crime(s) are still free.
So, what's the hold up?
It's not as if the police had to do any of the work:
- We identified the individuals involved in the crime.
- We provided the photographic evidence.
- We found the apartment of the individuals who committed the crime.
- We learned where Mr. Martin then (and perhaps still) worked.
We can only assume that the Toronto Hate Crimes Division needs to have their collective hands held and walked to Mr. Martin's residence or place of work. Perhaps our readers would like to give them a helping hand:
Police Officers of the Hate Crime Unit can be reached through Intelligence Services at: (416) 808-3500. You can also email the Intelligence Service (actually, there are a lot of contacts in the directory; pick a few and see who actually responds).
Since the Toronto Police seem to be busy arresting citizens who are standing up to criminals, perhaps they need our help to prompt them to get off their asses and doing something.

All this was sent to the police. And....... nothing."
Simple. You identify yourself and communicate with the ARA. They are not well received within law enforcement.
Thank you ARC Collective for persisting against this Hate Crime. I don't understand why the TO Police have not moved on the matter but hopefully this will spur some action!
ReplyDeleteYou are a "voice" for victims and I respect that! I find there seem to be more cowards (e.g. Nazis committing crimes under cover of darkness) than heroes nowadays and you are superheroes in my eyes (Hey 'The ARC Collective' is like 'Superfriends'!!)...Keep up the fantastic work and God bless you!!
Cops not doing their job? I'm shocked (not)
ReplyDeleteThey've been dragging their heels out here on Bill Noble too.
The cops better start towing their line or stand back, eat donuts and let the people sort it out. Do policing agencies really believe that the people are going to wait forever? Not gonna happen.
This is one thing I really admire about ARA: WE DO NOT WAIT FOR THE POLICE OR THE COURTS TO DO THE WORK (or something to that effect)
In fact anonymous 1, we've mentioned time and time again that we aren't affiliated with the ARA. That canard has been perpetuated by Free Dominion for almost a year, although they've yet to provide actual proof for their claim. As for communicating with the ARA, we communicate with a lot of people, but we don't make a point of asking them to provide their particular allegiances. If the ARA, law enforcement, or the general public find these pages to be useful, then we're happy to be able to provide the service.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it - police in this country don't take crimes like this seriously. They pretty much look the other way and let these thugs do whatever they want lest they be accused of "stifling free speech".
ReplyDeleteHow arson counts as speech, I'm not sure.
