Ezra Levant Makes Shit Up: The Proof

A month and a bit ago the right wing blogosphere was all in a tizzy about Warren Kinsella being fired by the Canadian Jewish Congress. One of those writers was Ezra Levant:

On Monday, almost exactly one year after he joined it, Warren Kinsella was asked to leave his volunteer position on the legal affairs committee of the Canadian Jewish Congress. It’s not often that volunteers get fired, but it happens.
. . .

I’m not going soft on Kinsella – his lawsuit against me is absurd, and if taken at face value, he means to bankrupt me. He’s a bully, and a fountain of foul-mouthed defamation in his own right. But there comes a point when someone – even someone who swears he’ll destroy you – is so self-destructive, and so blind to that self-destruction, that you feel a pang of sorrow for them.
. . .
But underneath his bluff and bravado is a real man with – though he might deny it – real feelings. I know he must be embarrassed and angry today at his ouster, just as he was a year ago. And though I won’t do it, I feel a strange urge to send him a note of consolation again.
. . . I hope Kinsella loses his nuisance suits. But where I thought I might feel schadenfreude, I feel sorrow. The news of his termination today doesn’t give me any joy. There is none in this public spectacle as he tumbles down, a flailing ball of anger and impotence.

No. No gloating at all.

There's only one rather significant problem with Levant's descent into schadenfreudic bliss.

He's lying.

Public statements suggesting that you were "fired" from the CJC are simply incorrect.

In any event, we look forward to having you rejoin our organization at a time that is mutually beneficial.

Mr. Levant, would you like to respond?

UPDATE 1: And out of the woodwork come the Kinsella haters. You boys and girls need to include a little more originality in your insults.

And in answer to jaycurrie, no. We get our information from little birdies.

UPDATE 2: You know what? What the hell. We'll post the comments currently being moderated and we'll deal with some of them later on in a follow up to this article (we did ask Mr. Levant if he'd like to comment and it wouldn't be sporting of us if we kept his comment moderated). Besides, they do tend to indicate the vitriolic and irrational hatred some of these folks have for Mr. Kinsella which says something about their state of mind.

And jaycurrie, the information that was redacted were addresses and email. We didn't think Mr. Kinsella would want that information out there for every crazy with a laptop to read.

  1. You've actually managed to scoop Kinsella himself on this one, somehow.

  2. Hardly proof. He resigned. Was he asked to resign? He is welcome back when it is "mutually beneficial"? How much you want to bet the CJC will never consider it "mutually beneficial". Your letter proves nothing beyond Kinsella quitting (before he got fired?). Why did he quit, was he asked to, was it over the "alleged" e-mails? You'll have to do better than that to prove Ezra lied.

  3. Geez, I wonder how that could have happened...

  4. I have to admit, I am kinda curious...do you pick up the Jackal's mail?

  5. You might at least post the comment you are responding to...but, not that I expect you to have the guts to post this one either, but check your dates...Ezra reported that Lying Jackal was asked to leave the 23rd, the letter purports to have the Jackal asking to resign on the 24th. Which is consistent.

  6. And, chickenshits, what was redacted on the top line???

  7. I guess the question now is what led to the resignation? Did Warren resign because of some principle? Because he didn't have time? Or did he do the "honourable thing" and offer to resign because he'd done something wrong (and because the alternative would have been being fired)?

  8. That letter is an after-the-fact attempt at spin by Kinsella. In February, he threatened to blackball and bad-mouth the Canada-Israel Committee, a sister organization to the Canadian Jewish Congress. The Jewish community's central advocacy agency ordered Kinsella off the CJC. He asked to "resign" instead of being fired, just to save face. But fired he was.

  9. Epic Fail
    Check the dates involved
    Nice try though...

  10. Looks like old kinsella is getting slow, it took almost a month to generate this letter. Quick response by way of Canada Post. It is sad really, just like it was sad to see Chuck Guite go as well.

  11. You have to love this Levant guy. First he lies outright makes up the fact that Kinsella was fired from the CJC. Then when you guys get the actual proof in a letter signed by the leadership of CJC that he wasn't fired, Levant changes his tune; only a bit. He was "forced" to reign bellows the Lerant so he was fired. This doesn't come with any proof just Ezra (as Professor Moon exposed last month in the National Post http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=1271435 )once again "making it up".

The man has lost all credibility.

  12. "A month and a bit ago the right wing blogosphere was all in a tizzy about Warren Kinsella being fired by the Canadian Jewish Congress. One of those writers was Ezra Levant:"

Yeah, a month ago... took awhile, huh? I guess the CJC doesn't backdate on request.

  13. "The Jewish community's central advocacy agency..."

Ezra invokes the Elders of Zion.

Yo Ez, did they come down and fire Kinsella from their UFO.

  14. If this is correct (which it could be), please answer....

    1. Why is this published one month after?

    2. Why wouldn't Kinsella publish this on his site as it is addressed to him?

    3. Why wouldn't Kinsella have sued Ezra (again) for defamation. This is a slam dunk case if this is real.

I think Farber would need to verify this before anyone believes its real.

Why would his Kinsella's email but listed on a formal letter??? Home address, sure. Internet address, um... no.

  15. BTW... kudos for publish all comments.

Unlike your liberal friend at Quitto Maggi... is blogging about his time at the Brass Rail strip club... only to realize he probably shouldn't ADMIT/BLOG to being in strip clubs.

  16. Levant writes:

"The Jewish community's central advocacy agency ordered Kinsella off the CJC."

Where is the evidence of that? It seems somewhat defamatory to me if it can't be proved.

  17. "1. Why is this published one month after?"

When somebody is defaming you, and you have already initiated a suit against them, and there is nothing more you can do to stop the on-going defamation...

Allowing the defamer time to keep digging their bigger and bigger defamatory hole - so as to provide the court (in the on-going defamation case) MORE concrete evidence of the defamatory actions -- AND more evidence of the malice aforethought seems like a sound stratgey.

    That's what I figure happened.
