Oh, RCMP! You Are Such a Tease!

We were mildly impressed that the boneheads in Vancouver have, thus far, been able to be relatively discrete (unlike the attention whores in Calgary). But we figured it would be inevitable since boneheads often = violence that we would be hearing about them eventually.

And now it seems as if that prediction has come true:

VANCOUVER -- The RCMP is holding a press conference Friday in Vancouver to announce the arrests of individuals allegedly belonging to an organized white supremacist hate group.

Police said in a statement today they would release no further details until the 11 a.m. news conference at RCMP "E" Division Headquarters.

At this point we aren't sure which group is being referred to in the article, but we have our suspicions.

A Winnipeg teen accused of a racist attack on a Jewish high school student is now stirring debate about the incident through his very public Facebook page.

Police confirmed Monday a 15-year-old boy had been charged with assault with a weapon for allegedly using a lighter to burn the hair of a Jewish classmate while uttering anti-Semitic remarks in the halls of Oak Park High School.

But while police said it was still being determined whether the boy will be charged with hate crimes, the boy had a message of his own, a picture of himself on his Facebook page wearing a shirt with a slogan relating that he loves "haters."

And he's being lauded by others online for the alleged attack.

A 15-year-old Manitoba youth who police say has anti-Semitic sympathies may face a hate-crime charge for allegedly pinning a Jewish classmate against a row of lockers and burning her hair with a lighter.

On Saturday, we published an article speculating that Marc Lemire, or at least his wife, isn't pleased with Paul Fromm using Lemire's Sec. 13 fight to fundraise off of, since another poster also implied that the money raised in other cases may not have reached those for who the money was originally intended.

One of our most faithful readers, Maikeru, focused on a photograph we included of Fromm and Lemire together. Originally posted by Fromm on his open Facebook account, he originally labelled it as originating at the "George Orwell Dinner" awards ceremony honoring the Fourniers (though, truth be told, it ain't an honor we would be proud to receive). Maikeru then accused us of three things, but we'll start with the second and third accusations.

The second thing we were accused of was "document tampering" which, given we didn't do anything to the photo itself and were simply providing a label that one of the attendees of the dinner and awards ceremony had ascribed to it sort of leaves us scratching our heads a little.

Connie herself erroneously claims we are engaging in witness tampering for talking about Lemire on these pages who is apparently their witness in Richard Warman's lawsuit against the Fourniers as the third accusation. We actually didn't know this before Connie first wrote about it a while back in making the same accusation against us then, but we can assure Ms. Fournier that we would be absolutely delighted if Mr. Lemire were to testify under oath, especially if the cross examination asked him certain questions about his past he would like to deny. But no, we are not trying to intimidate him or anyone.Trust us, once we knew that you planned on calling him as a witness we have all been very eager for Lemire to testify and have been ever since.

The first accusation though, now that we think about it, wasn't so much an accusation against us but against Harry Abrams whom Maikeru is now claiming is part of our little Collective here. And while hanging out with us is actually pretty fun (we have, "make your own sunday" Sundays here... oh, that reminds us that we need more sprinkles and rum n' butter syrup) and isn't something we think one should be ashamed of.


But we decided to contact Mr. Abrams, whom we haven't had any contact with for some time sadly (because we quite like him and his YouTube videos shows he plays a mean accordion) and  let him know that Maikeru has claimed him as being amongst the Collective. Yesterday, Mr. Abrams sent us the following message:

Toronto council to consider motion to allow residents to keep backyard hens

TORONTO - Chicken is on the menu today for city councillors in Toronto.

Council will be looking at a motion from Coun. Joe Mihevc aimed at allowing Toronto residents to keep hens in their backyards.

Mihevc says there are a number of residents who wish to keep hens in their backyards to produce eggs for personal use.

Existing bylaws prohibit the keeping of chickens in Toronto.

The motion calls on council to direct city staff to look into allowing residents to keep backyard hens in a safe and appropriate manner.

The motion notes cities such as Kingston, Ont., Vancouver, New York, Cleveland, and Los Angeles have modified their regulations to include backyard hens.

"The experiences of these cities have highlighted that residents can successfully keep a limited number of hens in their backyard in balance with the need to maintain the community's quality of life," the motion states.

And in Paulie's fevered imagination, he jumps to the conclusion that this is all a result of multiculturalism:

Evidently, Paulie is unfamiliar with the mostly white, middle-class phenomenon of the backyard chicken coop movement (which is a part of the larger movement towards organic foods). A lot of people, uncomfortable with the mechanized agricultural industry, have decided to raise chickens in their backyards for fun and profit (and protest, we suppose).

To gauge the size of this movement, note the following website (especially the forum) which is only one of hundreds we could find:

There are 111,556 users on this forum, almost half of that found on Stormfront, a webforum that has been around in one form or another since 1995. And it seems that many of your Stormfront compatriots raise chickens in urban settings as well:

Rift Between the Lemire Family and Fromm over Money?

Perhaps we're reading a bit much into this.

As it was Paulie who labelled the picture as such
originally, your argument is with him, not us.

That, and Harry Abrams has nothing to do with
this blog. But please, keep guessing.

Paul Fromm and Marc Lemire have a relationship that goes back to at least the mid 1990s when Lemire hosted Paulie's websites on his own Freedom-Site (along with other websites, including the Heritage Front which he would go on to lead, but we're going to touch on this issue again in later articles).

He has travelled with Fromm to events across Canada and has promoted Fromm's speeches and writing on the Heritage Front's magazine, "UpFront: Frontline" (including an article they appear to have co-written) and on the American-based hate site Stormfront. In turn, Paulie seems to have acted as a bit of a mentor to Lemire and has been spoken about his efforts to have Sec. 13 repealed.

A POLICE probe is underway into an incident at a Winnipeg high school involving a student with Nazi links who reportedly used a lighter to burn the hair of a Jewish student. The altercation in a hallway at Oak Park High School last month apparently also saw the 15-year-old boy make anti-Semitic slurs toward the 15-year-old girl.

Last night it came to our attention that the Goudreau has a twitter account. Curious, we decided to take a look. While everything he twitters is the mundane crap he posts on his Facebook page, we were struck by one thing:

How the hell does the Goudreau end up with 473 followers on twitter!?
