Canadian Combat18 Moderators

Combat18 is one of the most violent racist movements in Europe, at least west of Berlin, Germany. There are no Canadian chapters per se (though Volksfront is affiliated with a rival Blood and Honour alliance of movements), but there are individuals who consider themselves to be a part of the movement, if only peripherally. The Combat18 forum's Canadian section is usually moribund with only the occasional member posting a message every couple of days. However, there are currently three Canadian moderators working the forums.

We begin with Melissa Desrochers, born September 18, 1980, is a woman from Montreal, Quebecwho works as a medical assistant. On Combat18 forums she uses the name "Boadicea." Based upon her own writing it seems Melissa was a bit of a hellraiser at one time, but is a bit more domesticated. One point in her favor might be the fact that she absolutely can't stand fellow Montreal-based racist Tara Dribnenki. Melissa posted this concerning Dribnenki:

Profile: Tomasz Winnicki

Tomasz Winnicki, born on November 17, 1975, once proudly described himself as London, Ontario’s “biggest hater.” His posts on the VNN forums were profanity-laced diatribes against immigrants, African-Canadians, First Nations peoples, women, the police, homosexuals, and his biggest target, Jews. He threatens. He bullies. He’s as close to the stereotypical, frothing at the mouth bigot that one can find in real life outside of comic books.

But really, how seriously can you take someone who at 32 years old and based on current knowledge still lives in his mother’s and father’s basement and doesn’t seem to have ever lived on his own? Well, there was the brief exception of his stay for a few months in one of Canada’s fine correctional facilities for violation of a court injunction, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

Winnicki is himself an immigrant who’s family emigrated to Canada from Poland in 1987. He started making waves as a bigot in 2003 when someone discovered his racist website. Though the service provider did pull the plug on Winnicki when they were made aware of the content of his website, this wasn’t the end of Winnicki’s online activities. He soon found a new home on Alex Linder’s Vanguard News Network where he first posted as Thexder_3D. When his real identity was discovered he started posting under his own name. His posts are characteristically rambling, hate-filled and barely literate (you’d think his vocabulary was limited to the phrase, “fuck you Jews” when reading his posts) screeds targeting anyone not White, male, heterosexual, or, well, almost everyone really.

Soon Winnicki began attending protests along side Canadian Heritage Alliance leader Melissa Guille, Jason Ouwendyk and his Northern Alliance boneheads and Paul Fromm, the acknowledged leader of the Canadian far right. He mostly attended protests of London’s Gay Pride parades where he held up charming signs such as “AIDS Cures Homosexuals” but there was one protest he had attempted to join in but was prevented from doing so. In September 2004, Winnicki was driving his car with three other men were on their way to a rally in Toronto in support of Holocaust denier Ernst Zündel. When stopped by the police Winnicki’s car was searched. In his car the police discovered throwing knives, body armour, and a bow with arrows. Instead of attending the rally, Winnicki and the three other men were arrested. He plead guilty to weapons charges on November 23, 2006 and was given a conditional discharge with 6 months probation. It was discovered that one of the men who was arrested with Winnicki was Randal Linton who posts on Stormfront and other hate sites as “Raghnall." The other two were Kevin Lovett and Jason King

Calgary Firebombing Update

We guess that this is as close an official Aryan Guard comment, made by Kyle McKee as “pitbull-A.G.” on Stormfront, about the firebombing of the home of anti-racist activists in Calgary as we’re likely to get:

why should we condemn it we are responsible only for our selfs [sic]  and have our own ideas serounding [sic] these types of things posted on our website! I personaly [sic]  could care less that this has happend [sic]  to some commie but only really feel bad that his kids safty [sic]  was at risk. In my opinion it was probably done by them selfs [sic]  but witch [sic]  ever way it went I don't really care I will keep track of my own actions and only ask that others in the aryan guard do the same!

I suspect that the cops know what the score is and thats [sic]  why we never heard about it untill [sic]  now and that these commies just had to find some one that would listen to there [sic]  BS and one way or the other the papers don't care and just know that "nazis" sell papers and that the police were only looking to give them what they wanted to hear so that they can keep face to the public!

Terry Tremaine, 59, has been charged with wilful promotion of hatred against an identifiable group after allegedly making comments online about Jews.

City arson detectives are looking into a possible white supremacist link to a pair of firebombings in the city. 

One of the attacks targeted a southeast home containing four children. 

Anti-racism activist Bonnie Collins said on the night of Feb. 12, someone threw a Molotov cocktail at her townhouse on Radcliffe Dr. S.E. 

She said the blazing bottle filled with a flammable fluid just missed a rear window, but struck the side of the building and torched a fence and her patio set. 

Collins believes her work in standing up to white supremacists provoked the attack.

Link Byfield is currently a candidate for the Wildrose Alliance Party in the constituency of Whitecourt-St. Anne (see Byfield campaign website). In 2004, he was chosen as one of Alberta's four senators in waiting, though the Federal government is not obliged to appoint him to the Senate.

Aryan Guard and Wildrose Alliance Party Update.

In the interest of fairness we contacted the Wildrose Party of Alberta regarding the claims of the Aryan Guard. To their credit they did reply:

Thank you for your email today. Regarding your question about who we enlist to help with the party campaigns I can answer the following: No we do not actively recruit help from the Aryan [Guard]. This was the first I have heard of such a thing. Further to this, whomever was saying we do not support Human rights commissions is obviously speaking out of turn as there is no such policy and certainly no such prevailing sentiment in the party. I looked on the web and saw the RPO box for Kensington. The candidate for the Kennsington area (calgary mountainview) has not been in town since December 26th so I doubt it was him. He is returning to campaign in the near future. The riding to the south of Kensington (Calgary Buffalo) does not have a candidate as of yet. The area to the north (north hill) has a female candidate so that would rule her out. We take these accusations very seriously and will question all of our Calgary candidates first thing in the morning. While most of those who participate in this blog are left of center and would not vote for the Wildrose Alliance Party, we don't wish to see any group unfairly associated with groups such as the Aryan Guard. As such we will take Mr. Murdoch at his word when he says that the Wildrose Alliance does not seek or welcome participation in the party by the extreme right. However, there are still numerous questions and the claims by Kyle McKee and Jason Harley can't be taken lightly.

Bill Noble Sentence to Four Months

Fast on the heels of Terry Tremaine's arrest is the conviction of Bill Noble for violating the Criminal Code section regarding the promotion of racial hatred.
