Frazier Glenn Miller, Supporter of Craig Cobb, Suspect in Kansas City Murders

Like a lot of people who learned about the three murders that took place in Kansas City today, we assumed that hate was a motive especially when reports that the shooter had been shouting antisemitic epithets during the shootings. The first image of the suspect wasn't very clear, however a second one we found online caused us to wonder if he was someone who we might actually know of:

Frazier Glenn Miller has been mentioned on this blog on a number of occasions, mostly as a result of his relationship with Craig Cobb who is currently still in jail due to his activities in Leith, North Dakota. In fact Miller's last post on VNN where he is a long time member and a frequent poster (using the name, "Rounder") was concerning Cobb:

Miller was also the first whom we know of who announced that Cobb had fled Canada after the latter was arrested and charged under Sec. 319 of the country's hate crime laws.

In addition to his promotion of Cobb and his failed efforts to turn Leith into an all "White" enclave, Miller was a very vocal supporter of racist serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin who was executed earlier this year:

Oh, you are going to hear a lot about this one! This isn't some guy who was hiding in the shadows. This was a clown that had served notice on society publicly and loudly for over 30 years.

Marc Lemire Goes Down in Flames and Paulie Comments on Free Dominion Suit

Back in November, our favorite misanthrope announced former Heritage Front leader Marc Lemire's appeal of his Sec. 13 conviction:

Today the Federal Court of Canada made a decision regarding Marc Lemire's appeal of the Sec 13 ruling against him (he had previously had another related appeal dismissed).

Lemire not only lost his appeal, but the Federal Court also reinstated the constitutionality of the penalty clause of Sec 13.

We'll await the crying and gnashing of teeth from the usual suspects. Fromm himself is a little behind as he has only started to complain about the costs awarded to Mr. Warman in his libel case against Free Dominion:

Richard Warman seems to do very well in Ottawa with defamation suits. The courts there seem to like him and he pockets fat awards, plus costs. He's a hometown boy. His wife too works in the legal system. It's tough for outsiders like the Fourniers or CAFE/Fromm or others who have not had the home town advantage. On January 23, a provincial superior judge, Robert Smith, slapped the Fourniers with a crushing Singapore-style $127,000 judgement -- damages and costs for Richard Warman in a six-year long defamation suit. The Fourniers are shutting down their website Free Dominion, at least as a discussion board.

The Failure of "Cobbsville" Part V: Misanthropy

By now our readers might need to be reminded why this blog, which almost exclusively focuses on the racist movement in Canada, is paying so much attention to the Craig Cobb fiasco in Leith, North Dakota.

Remember when Cobb, not long after his arrest, said that if the charges were dropped he would not only leave North Dakota, but that he would like to leave the the United States as well?

Guess where it looks like he might want to return to:

Cobb, who during his brief stay in the country back in the 1970s applied for and received Canadian citizenship, might have decided it would be better to face Canadian hate crime charges than up to 35 years in a federal prison in the country of his birth.

We had opined that we were not overly concerned with Cobb's efforts to take over the small village of Leith when we first learned of the effort in August (which isn't to dismiss the stress the poor folks of the town must have been going through). In the end, we knew it was going to crash and burn. Still, even we didn't expect just how epic the failure would be.

We could post all of the screenshots of the infighting, the accusations and counter accusations, and the general sense of despair and anger that is on full display on the White Nations, VNN and Stormfront forums, but instead we'll just direct you to click on the links here, here, here, and here. The reality is that instead of reinvigorating the racist movement with a, "bold new strategy", it has resulted in a massive rift in the movement and exposed those who support and promote the ideology as anti-social misanthropes.

Because you see Craig Cobb isn't the only misanthrope.

The Failure of "Cobbsville" Part IV: In the End, It's Not Really About Cobb

Since the last post on the subject a few things have happened. Cobb and Dutton were denied bond. Cobb began a hunger strike (he was taken to the hospital today for an evaluation). He has filed a human rights complaint against the attorney general of North Dakota claiming he has been discriminated against. Finally, Cobb has promised that, in exchange for dropping charges against him, he will leave North Dakota forever.

All in all it's been a busy week and a half for Cobb and his friends.

We had stated in an earlier post that we really didn't expect much out of Cobb's efforts and that it would inevitably collapse around him. Despite the initial hopes of his supporters, even most of them have come to realize how disastrous this initiative was. His detractors on VNN and Stormfront have been ripping into Cobb and his allies on the White Nations forum have been at a bit of a loss to explain how things have turned out, suggesting that Cobb might be mentally ill or suffering from dementia.

But really, whether Cobb had initiated this effort or someone else, it was going to fail because of who it attracted. In fact this case really is a shining example of what the, "White Nationalist" or "White Separatist" movement really is all about. In that sense Cobb is a bit player in the drama he created.

Let's take a look at the two adults who have stuck it out with Cobb to support our case:

Cobb's Venture in North Dakota Failing (Which Shouldn't Really Be a Surprise)

We don't often turn our gaze south of the border unless there's some link to Canada or to Canadian boneheads. So when Craig Cobb's efforts to turn little Leith, North Dakota into little Bavaria circa 1939 became public, we couldn't help pay attention.

Not long after fleeing from Canada where he held citizenship back to his native United States (Cobb had been charged with violating this country's hate crime laws) Cobb quietly began purchasing property in the small village of Leith, North Dakota. Much of the property was purchased cheaply, in some cases sold by owners who hadn't been to Leith in some time, and it was pretty clear that no one knew who Craig Cobb was nor his motivations. So when it hit the news that Cobb was buying property so that he and other boneheads could move to the village, take over the government, and enact racist bylaws (not to mention naming future parks and buildings after Hitler or infamous American racists) the freakout was more than understandable. He also gave property to a who's who of racists, including Tom Metzger, Alex Linder of VNN, the National Socialist Movement, child pimp April Gaede (at least when it came to her eldest daughter's musical careers, though we can't be certain that she wouldn't have offered them both up to David Lane had the opportunity arose) and Canada's own Paul Fromm (should he accept the offer).

Turns out though the good people of Leith and the surrounding area really don't take a shine to outsiders trying to impose their ideas on them though. Cobb himself lost his job and encouraged his supporters to harass his former employer so he could get his job back (because that is a TOTALLY not crazy and perfectly rational approach to conflict resolutions). Then when convicted felon Jeff Schoep and a few members of his National Socialist Movement gang traveled to Leith to support Cobb, they were met by a much larger counter protest which included Lakota and Dakota warriors.

We gotta tells ya that if we were gamblers, we would  bet on the Lakota or Dakota warrior in a fight with an "Aryan" warrior any day of the week. We mean, even the elders who took their flag and then burned it kicked their asses... albeit figuratively.

Things also haven't helped matters when it was learned that Cobb's residence didn't have sewer or running water. To wash himself he used bottled water and when he wanted to drop a deuce he had to go outside to an outhouse which might be fine if you're staying in a cottage at the lake but it's not so cool when your neighbor is working in her garden next door.

So in other words, they expect to build this....

.... but thus far has only managed to get as far as this:

Hey, Rome wasn't built in a day.

But last week there was finally some good news for Cobb and co. A couple of boneheads and their five children in Oregon had decided to take Cobb up on his offer and move to Leith. The folks at VNN, well, they were over the moon!

Interesting Development Regarding Ally of Craig Cobb

The SPLC has run a story regarding Craig Cobb's efforts in North Dakota to take over a small hamlet and reshape as a "White Nationalist" haven. One of his biggest supporters is the founder of the relatively new White Nations web forum "Fred O'Malley" who was banned from VNN a while back (Cobb himself was banned shortly after). The SPLC has been able to identify "Fred" as Stanley Edward Diggs. And of course the recriminations and accusations of who is and who is not an informer, traitor, etc followed, something we plan on following up a little later.

One of the boneheads also managed to dig something up which, if true, is a story in and of itself.

We haven't written a lot about Craig Cobb since his arrest and his subsequent flight from Canada a few years ago, aside from his rather disconcerting effort to get him some lov'n. But Crusty the Cobb has been busy. For starters, he has re-established Podblanc. If our readers need a reminder, Podblanc is sort of the racist version of YouTube. Many of the videos Cobb created and posted to his site were those in which he presented himself as a reporter. He then proceeded to ask questions rife with racial epithets designed not to elicit thoughtful responses but anger from the target (for example, as Rosa Parks' body was lying in state in Washington D.C., Cobb informed visitors waiting in line to pay their respects that she was a, "shitskinned communist" and that he was celebrating Parks death). In fact, Cobb often makes nasty little comments about the appearance of his targets, which makes it rather ironic that he seems so thin-skinned when the roles are reversed:

But that's not all. Cobb has decided to fulfill the wishes of many "White Nationalists" including our own Tomasz Winnicki by attempting to create a bonehead utopia, Turns out a little over a year ago Cobb started buying property in a little North Dakota hamlet:

"Know Your Place!": Misogyny and Racism

When Dr. Henry Morgentaler died on Wednesday at the age of 90, we expected him to be vilified by the usual suspects. Among those who attacked his legacy were boneheads. Most comments made were pretty nasty, as again we would have expected, but many included some variation of the following assertion:

Women are, in the view of boneheads like Winnicki, simply baby factories. That in a nutshell is all women are really worth to the men who predominate in the racist movement. They might try to soften their view of women by using euphemisms about supporting the traditional families and their desire to protect, "white women" from the coloured hordes eager to ravage them, but the reality is that women are only viewed as useful in their genetic potential and their ability to provide an incubator for the future white warriors who will fight, "the upcoming race war." But the woman herself? Her job is simply to bear children and keep her mouth shut.

The simple, and not so hidden secret, is this: as much as they hate people of colour and Jews, boneheads hate women almost as much.

Gun Violence: Reality vs. Perceptions

You would have to be living under a rock to not hear about the tragedy that occurred in Colorado last week when a gunman murdered 12 men and woman (and a child) during the screening of the latest Batman movie. In Toronto, there have also been high profile news stories involving guns in which people have died, including one that occurred at the Eaton's Centre and another at a community block party.

It's natural that people would ask themselves, and aloud, why these terrible events happen. It's also natural to feel for the victims and their families. We want to find solutions that will prevent anyone else from having to feel what must be terrible anguish (this writer lost a loved one as a child and can well understand how the survivors feel). But there is no clear cut solution, no panacea that will make things right. This isn't to say that we shouldn't work to ending violence in our communities, but to warn against the desire for a, "quick fix."

There are individuals, however, who do offer quick fixes.

Response to the Demise of Sec. 13 in "Maclean's"

Earlier today, we were contacted by "Maclean's" and asked about our take on the demise of Sec. 13. We responded as follows:

We think that the government was incredibly short sighted in their decision to eliminate Sec. 13. It was a useful and cost-effective tool in the effort to eliminate some very vile, hateful, and potentially dangerous rhetoric online and in the public sphere. Now we have only the criminal code which, in a few cases, is like using a machete when a scalpel would have been more prudently utilized. 

Those individuals and groups who were called before the Human Rights Tribunal and who were found to have violated Sec. 13 were not innocent lambs who were victimized by Big Brother. They were people and groups who were causing real harm in their communities. Their words did result in harm, and I don't mean hurt feelings. People's homes were vandalized. People have been assaulted. And these criminal acts had, in many cases, began with the dehumanization of fellow Canadians for no other reason than their ethnicity, religion, gender and sexual orientation. 

The people who are celebrating this are the extremists on Stormfront and VNN and a host of other racist webforums, but as we wrote on our blog they should consider that now there is only the criminal code and the penalties are more severe than anything Sec. 13 dished out. It should also be noted that racists aren't content with only Sec. 13. Paul Fromm, for instance, has said he and his group will next focus their attention on the criminal code sections regarding hate crimes.

We get the impression that the "Maclean's" in which Sec. 13 will be discussed is coming out this week. We don't expect that our entire response will be published, or if any of it will be for that matter, but if it is we thought we'd include the entirely of our response here.

White Nationalists Are Hurting in Canada

So, question for our dedicated readers.

Have you noticed how little activity there has been online when it comes to Canadian boneheads?

The Internet was a boon to "White Nationalists" in Canada and around the world. Up until the mid 1990s, boneheads were relatively isolated in places outside big cities, and even there you really had to know someone if you wanted to be a part of the Movement. However, when sites like Stormfront was started by Don Black (and Freedom-Site by Marc Lemire in Canada), these isolated misfits found a community of like-minded racists, anti-Semites, and bigots. The Internet became a potent tool to recruit boneheads and was used to organize in ways not possible before.

Our membership has watched this develop since the early days of the Internet (don't think for a moment we've only been around since 2007 when this blog went online). We watched hate groups proliferate online to the point where they began marching on the street. We watched as hate groups grew increasingly bolder and more brazen.

We watched. We learned.

The Vilification of Trayvon Martin

Our friend Dr. Dawg has referred in the past to "conservative" as not being politics, but a diagnosis. And certainly in the demonization of Trayvon Martin on the right, we are loathed to disagree with him. Smears such as the faked photos depicting Martin as a "gang banger", accusations (unfounded) that he sold drugs, and that he, not Zimmerman, was the aggressor and that Martin got what he had coming to him have proliferated the Internet as racists have attempted to smear in death Trayvon Martin.

By the way, if Martin felt threatened by Zimmerman and did put up a fight, then isn't he protected by the same law that Zimmerman is now seemingly protected by? Just a thought...

President Obama made brief mention of the case when specifically asked. A normal person might think, upon hearing what Obama said, that he was trying to comfort a grieving family while at the same time stating while he hoped that there would be an investigation, it wasn't the federal government's place to interfere. In today's hyperpartisan atmosphere though, he was accused of, "race baiting."

We'll see plenty of that ahead here in this article.

Since we focus on Canada, we thought we would focus specifically on the reaction of Canada's far right. Starting with the hyperpartisanship angle, our friends at Free Dominion attacks Obama because his campaign happens to sell hoodies as a means of fund raising for the upcoming campaign:

Yep. They're making the case that Obama is attempting to profit from the Trayvon Martin tragedy. They don't seem to realize that the Obama team has been selling this hoodie well before the shooting took place and it has nothing to do with Trayvon Martin now.

Still, if they decide to criticize Obama, perhaps they might also decide to criticize the Republican front runner:

Perhaps Duane will condemn the folks running this particular website for selling these hoodies?

Or maybe Ron Paul supporters:

Want to take bets on if the guy modelling the hoodie in the above screen shots would have been shot in the chest in Florida?

But these are the side-show.

We're going to post a representative sample of screen shots from Free Dominion's thread dealing with Trayvon Martin. If you wish, you might choose to pick your way through the entire 21 pages (as of now) of ugliness yourselves, but we decided to limit the scope and focus on a few. And while not every person posting in the thread should be described as a bigot, the entire thing is as bad as anything you might read on Stormfront, Blood & Honour, or VNN forums.

We're going to limit our commentary. Let us know what you think and if our designation of Free Dominion as a hate site is accurate or not?

During one of our nightly visits to Stormfront, we noticed that instead of the normal forum headings we're used to seeing, instead we found this:

So as we often do, we checked out the white supremacist forums to see what is being said about the arrest of the three Blood & Honour members in BC.

After all, we all know that if the accused were of non-European heritage, the denizens of Stormfront and VNN would be all over it and claiming the crime as further evidence that "Whites" can't coexist in a society with 'dem ethnics.

Would it surprise our readers that not much has been posted about the crimes that Macdonald, de Chazal and Miller are accused of? Of course you aren't!

First, before the main course. One of the four tools who decided it would be fun to assault people while handing out Blood & Honour fliers in Edmonton was sentenced today:

A brown-skinned white supremacist who hurled racist slurs and sang Nazi songs at a Whyte Avenue bar was placed on probation for two years on Thursday.

Keith Virgil Decu, 32, was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and banned from going to the Whyte Avenue area after pleading guilty in Provincial Court to a reduced charge of causing a disturbance.

Crown prosecutor Ashley Finlayson told court it was an “abhorrent” crime, but said Decu played a much lesser role than his white supremacist co-accused in the racist rampage along Whyte Avenue on Feb. 12.

“It was clear he was a follower and not significantly involved, “ said Finlayson, although the prosecutor pointed out Decu “joined in” the Nazi songs being sung in the Strathcona Hotel bar and “called people niggers.”

Facts Schmacts! Paulie and Friends Continue to Play Fast and Loose With the Truth

Well, it really didn't take Paulie long to comment on the racial taunting incident in London, Ontario:

We were surprised that he would take this position on the fine city of London, as one of the more infamous residents has claimed that the city is as close to a "White Nationalist" utopia that one can find in Ontario:

My, my, who to believe? London as the promised land or London as a den of perverse iniquity?

How about London is a growing city that is very safe but which has it's share of crime like any other city in Canada? Yeah, that makes more sense.

Paulie really will make things up, or promote people who make things up, in order to try and convince people (mostly those who have already drunk the Kool-Aid) of the correctness of his views. Yet another example of this dishonesty is a post on "White News Now" in which he presents the view of the individual slamming Canada:

Paulie writes that, "Mr. Newton makes some powerful points." Just how powerful are these points when you actually take the time to dust off your critical thinking skills and perform a modicum of fact checking?

Arrest Made In MLK. Jr Day Terrorist Act; Canadian Link

Well, sort of a Canadian link. It's more than a bit tenuous, but we need a bit of a break from the usual boneheads we cover.

As some of our readers may be aware, Congressmen Peter King began his McCarthyite hearings on the "radicalization" of American Muslims. Word is that during the hearings when mention was made of neo-Nazi terrorism, Mr. King responded that there hadn't been a terrorist act committed by a neo-Nazi in years. Evidently he was unaware of the arrest made the day before of Kevin Harpham, former member of the National Alliance and prolific poster on the VNN forums (as discovered by TPM) under the name, "Joe Snuffy." Harpham is accused of planting a rat poison laced explosive device along the path of a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade route. And not a fake one designed to intimidate. This was the real deal.

But we suppose this type of terrorism isn't of concern to Mr. King, just as the IRA (whom King actively supported in the 1980s and 1990s) aren't a concern either.
