Guest Article: Faith Goldy -- Anti-Semite or Pro-Israel? Why not both?

By now it seems hard to deny that Faith Goldy is an anti-Semite:

However, some of the more dense among us have yet to catch on. They think her (ostensibly) being pro-Israel nullifies all of this.

Meir Weinstein is hardly a model of opposing Nazis given that he has repeatedly demonstrated having blind spots to right-wing anti-Semitism (Soldiers of Odin, Ronny Cameron, WCAI, etc.). But it is by no means just the JDL who is falling for this dumb argument. This brings up the question: what actually are Faith Goldy's views on Israel?

Long-time observers of nationalist, xenophobic movements in the West will know that there are a few positions these groups and figures can have on Israel. There is the traditional anti-Semitic one, which sees Israel as the world headquarters of the international Jewish conspiracy and as being parasitic on the white man. There is also the anti-Muslim "counter-jihad" one which sees Israel as the first line of defence against Islamic expansionism, often tempered with Christian Zionist or neoconservative themes. Lastly, there are positions that fall somewhere between, such as the alt-right figures who see Israel as a model ethno-state but take an isolationist position on Middle-Eastern affairs, perhaps while still pushing anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Israel (such as that Israel supports ISIS against Bashir al-Assad).

So where does Faith Goldy stand? While it may seem long ago with all the hateful things she's said, she hates Palestinians and has called for a "crusade" against them. She has also advocated for a "one state solution" which presumably doesn't mean one state with equal rights for Arabs and Jews and right of return for Palestinians, like some pro-Palestine people support. No, she means Israel should annex the West Bank and expel all the Palestinians, (I believe that's what she would call "ethnocide") or at least have them under permanent Israeli occupation. She often touts this fact to try to dodge accusations of anti-Semitism. She can’t be an anti-Semite if she hates Arabs!

As abhorrent as all of this may be, none of this would be anything too outstanding among anti-Muslim circles, which typically reactively sides against the “Muslim” side in any conflict and will justify any actions taken against them. But as Faith started to become more open about her alt-right associations, her views on Israel started to take a slightly different tune. She started praising its ethnic demographic policy, portraying it as a model for the West, describing it as a “religious ethnostate” (her words, not ours):

But she also saw certain Israeli government policies as being antagonistic with her goals of a Canadian ethnostate. In April, she spoke out against an Israeli government plan to deport African asylum seekers to Canada.

“Open borders for Israel” is an alt-right meme. The neo-Nazi Daily Stormer appears to have been an early promoter of this phrase.

Later that April, Donald Trump fired some more missiles at Syrian government targets to respond to a chemical gas attack. Naturally, the pro-Assad alt-right jumped to Assad's defence and blamed an Israeli conspiracy to drag America into war. Faith was among them:

Faith also blamed "dual citizens" for America’s missile strikes on Syria. Jews, in other words....

If there's any doubt, let's just search to see where this parody of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" comes from:

That’s right, it's from "the Daily Shoah" podcast. And while this obscure reference may have went over the heads of some of her conservative fans, clearly some of her Twitter followers got where it was coming from. Note the many reference to the podcast hosts, Mike Enoch and Sven (AKA Seventh Son):

This is not the only time in that month alone that Faith Goldy used subtle anti-Semitic dog whistles to signal her support for the alt-right. One time she made a negative reference to a "culture of critique.”

Culture of Critique is the name of an anti-Semitic book by Kevin B. Macdonald, which tries to use evolutionary psychology to argue that "Jewish intellectual movements" in the 20th century were bent on subverting the cohesive social structures of WASP-dominated America. The author has worked for various white nationalist publications, and is very influential in alt-right circles. Evolutionary psychologists often ignored this work, dismissing it as pseudo-scientific. But over the past year it has come under more serious intellectual scrutiny in response to its role in popularizing the contemporary rise in anti-Semitism.

Again, her anti-Semitic fans heard what she meant loud and clear.

While writing this, Alheli Picazo in Canadaland notes that Faith Goldy had previously mentioned Kevin Macdonald as being important in her shift towards alt-right “ethno-nationalism.” So she’s definitely aware of his work.

Back to Israel and Syria. Back in this same month, Goldy also took umbrage over Israel’s airstrikes against a Syrian airbase.

She also opposed the Trump Administration’s attempt to rip up the Iranian nuclear deal:

While this in itself is not controversial, it is remarkable that the JDL, which picketed liberal politicians for supporting the nuclear deal, seems to take no issue with their right-wing anti-Semitic friends supporting it.

So, we see that Faith Goldy supports Israel’s demographic policies excluding Arabs and African refugees as a model for the West. She considers this to be an ethno-state, something she says she wants for Canada. At the same time however, she opposes Israel’s foreign policy and sees it as being in conflict with Canada and America. She also blames aspects of America’s foreign policy that she opposes on Jewish control.

In other words, she is an anti-Semite who "supports" Israel.

More Evidence Linking Faith Goldy to Overt Antisemitic and Racist Groups

Back on August 25, ARC published a story about this guy:

Lukas Danford from Barrie, ON was the only person to show up for "No Show" Goudreau's September 30, 2017 rally in Peterborough:

At the time no one knew his name, but it turned out that he had participated on the leaked Discord chats under the moniker "Tarnfurt." He appeared to be active exclusively on the #tradworker server and had expressed interest in establishing a Canadian chapter of the racist Traditionalist Worker Party which was founded by Matthew Heimbach.

When this information was published, I wasn't sure if we would cross paths with Danford again. It seems though that he is even more interesting than I had once thought because of whom a reader was able to connect him to:

On July 3, Faith Goldy organized an anti-immigrant protest in Quebec at Roxham Road. The main focus of the article had been on Ronny Cameron seeming to fully embrace the antisemitic, white supremacist, path based in large part on his video commentary of the event (this has been definitively  borne out since the video was published), however a reader who looked through the video noticed another familiar face:

Lukas Danford was at the Roxham Road protest.

This is where things become more interesting:

The same reader who noticed Danford in Cameron's video also found this 4chan discussion of Faith Goldy. It appears to be comprised mainly of misogynistic, alt-right, incel cretins.

In other words....

One user however stood out from the rest because he could be identified:

User "JLf5DF+z" is also Lukas Danford who later goes on to describe his meeting with Goldy at the Roxham Road protest:

Note ARC didn't put the swazi on Danford's blacked-out face. Nope, he did that himself.

(I also see Georges Massaad's gf Leigh "Stewy" Stewart in the background wearing the Blue Jays cap. Hi Leigh!).

Because it is 4chan, a lot of the exchanges between Danford and the other users were as icky as you would anticipate:

There were some posts that were more substantive and seem to provide information that as a mayoral candidate Ms. Goldy has been trying to suppress as she tries to appeal to a wider demographic:

Cameron vs. Van Hamme: Battle of the Douchebags

Not a particularly classy title for this article, but I believe that most readers will find it apropos.

I think we can all accurately define Ronny Cameron as a white supremacist at this point, right?

None of this is of particular surprise given the trajectory Cameron has been on the last year of course. What is new-ish is Cameron's apparent belief that he is the font of knowledge on a broad range of scholarship, including anthropology and human evolution:

Full disclosure here. This writer has a particular passion for this subject having a background in history, sociology, and anthropology. Suffice it to say that this was especially painful for me to watch because Ronny Cameron is really a blithering idiot who really doesn't understand the topic he is covering but who has started to present himself as an authority on all the subjects he talks about. This particular video, which I won't subject ARC readers to, is filled with misrepresentations, falsehoods, and pseudo-science that would give even the most patient person a headache. Honestly, I think Erich von Däniken might be a more credible and knowledgeable scholar by comparison, and he is a fraudulent hack.

After watching the entire video (because I'm a damn masochist apparently) I had only four words enter into my mind which appropriate encapsulated my thoughts:

"Wow, what an idiot."

No me thinking Ronny an idiot shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, but more and more people who might be considered alt-right -- even if they don't consider themselves to be alt-right -- have come to the same conclusion.

With Steven Myatt moving to Alberta (yeah, that's a thing) and Ronny needing to be in conflict with someone, it didn't take long for him to find someone else to beef with:

Alex Van Hamme runs Free Bird Media and has links to folks like Faith Goldy, Paul Fromm, and James Sears. While ARC regulars are likely well aware of who he is, others might remember him from these stories that came out during the Ontario election:

A couple of days ago, Van Hamme found himself in a dialogue with Cameron who was using an alternate Facebook profile:

It's clear that Van Hamme had been annoyed with Ronny for some time and this exchange seems to have been the straw that broke the camel's back since soon after he posted a video slamming Ronny as an idiot:

Van Hamme certainly has a bit of an ego himself based on how he characterizes himself, and I'm not sure I'd be so uppity in touting my journalistic credentials if I considered an interview with "Dimitri the Lover" to be a significant coup:

Still, it's hard to argue with Van Hamme's characterization of Ronny.

It wasn't long before Ronny caught wind of the video. He responded in a dignified, measured, mature, manner befitting his self-proclaimed status as the face of white nationalism in Canada.

And by dignified, measured, and mature, I mean an hour and forty-minute profane dis track because Ronny gotta Ronny.

The video is too long to post in its entirety so I have currently cut it into 14 clips. I may very well come back to the this article at a later date to edit for the juicy stuff, but I'm tired and cranky so I'm making you sift through it all if you have the stomach. My personal favorite part though was when Ronny started bragging about his 130 IQ based on an online IQ test. I'm sure many readers have done these tests as well. I've done several in the past for shits and giggles and my IQ ranges from 120 to 250 based on these tests. Now a 120 IQ might not be out of the question, but I am not so arrogant to believe I have a 250 IQ. Suffice it to say I have come to question the scientific rigor of IQ tests that my mother shares on Facebook:

Robert Jones Finds a New He-Man Woman Hater's Club to Cosplay With

I guess that I definitively can no longer refer to Robert Jones as a middle-aged Proud Boy.

No, he's now a man going through a midlife crisis who wants to look like a biker but can't be bothered to spend money on a Harley:

Honestly, ARC has made fun of boneheads who seem desperate for a club t-shirt, but Junes' need to belong to something really does redefine pathetic:

Uhm.... about Indian Motorcycles.... I have some bad news for you Robert.

Really, I think Robert Jones has one of the most acute cases of Peter Pan syndrome I've ever come across.

Since being booted from the Proud Boys, Jones has taken a few swipes at his former "club" which includes some cryptic, though not necessarily surprising, accusations:

Ronny Cameron Thrilled With Bernier Leaving Conservative Party

Maxime Bernier quitting the Conservative Party on the eve of the Conservative Party Policy Convention and promising to create and lead a new, presumably further right, party has sort of been a bit of a political earth quake in the country. Certainly it has been met with consternation among Conservatives who believe that a split on the right would all but guarantee another Liberal victory. Others are thrilled that they will have a "real conservative" who supports their values.

One of those people is very happy today:

Going through the thread, I would say that maybe 25% of commentators agree with Cameron while the remaining 75% are losing their shit alternatively accusing Bernier of being paid off by George Soros and/or Saudi Arabia and accusing each other of being "libtards."

In fact, Cameron has been providing a fair amount of shallow political commentary for the past week:

It's funny that this is sort of the very low hanging fruit that he accuses Myatt of posting, but I digress.

To be fair, I suppose Cameron has made a few posts that might constitute a rudimentary, if entirely predictable, political platform that he sees someone like Bernier implementing. For example, echoing Bernier's criticism of Canadian immigration policy, Cameron posted the following:

They Really Just Can't Get Along: Ronny Cameron, Kevin "No Show" Goudreau, Robert Jones, and the Proud Boys

I suspect that all of this is in part a fallout from the failed WCAI rally in Toronto last Saturday. If there is any consolation for members of the Canadian far-right, they aren't the only ones having a lousy time:

In fact it isn't even the WCAI failure that should be blamed at all. These people are toxic in general and since familiarity breeds contempt the more they associate with each other the more they come to despise each other as well.

For example, here Ronny Cameron modestly proclaims himself King of the Canadian Alt-Right.

Really, that's only a very slight exaggeration:

Not that it is a burden he wishes to bare. Oh no, he would much rather someone else take up the mantel but sometimes greatness is thrust upon individuals who rise to greatness. You know, like Moses, George Washington, and Happy Gilmore:

Yeah, it's all a bit melodramatic and patently ridiculous. Though I'm not inclined to think of Ronny Cameron as being the voice of white nationalism in Canada anyways, it isn't exactly the honor he seems to believe it is. Honestly, winning a hot dog eating contest would garner greater awe and respect.

Still, there are those who aren't happy to have Cameron usurp this particular status since they believe themselves to be the voice of white nationalism:

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the saddest fucking online argument you've seen this year:

This.... this is just so.... beautiful!
