Cameron vs. Van Hamme: Battle of the Douchebags

Not a particularly classy title for this article, but I believe that most readers will find it apropos.

I think we can all accurately define Ronny Cameron as a white supremacist at this point, right?

None of this is of particular surprise given the trajectory Cameron has been on the last year of course. What is new-ish is Cameron's apparent belief that he is the font of knowledge on a broad range of scholarship, including anthropology and human evolution:

Full disclosure here. This writer has a particular passion for this subject having a background in history, sociology, and anthropology. Suffice it to say that this was especially painful for me to watch because Ronny Cameron is really a blithering idiot who really doesn't understand the topic he is covering but who has started to present himself as an authority on all the subjects he talks about. This particular video, which I won't subject ARC readers to, is filled with misrepresentations, falsehoods, and pseudo-science that would give even the most patient person a headache. Honestly, I think Erich von Däniken might be a more credible and knowledgeable scholar by comparison, and he is a fraudulent hack.

After watching the entire video (because I'm a damn masochist apparently) I had only four words enter into my mind which appropriate encapsulated my thoughts:

"Wow, what an idiot."

No me thinking Ronny an idiot shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, but more and more people who might be considered alt-right -- even if they don't consider themselves to be alt-right -- have come to the same conclusion.

With Steven Myatt moving to Alberta (yeah, that's a thing) and Ronny needing to be in conflict with someone, it didn't take long for him to find someone else to beef with:

Alex Van Hamme runs Free Bird Media and has links to folks like Faith Goldy, Paul Fromm, and James Sears. While ARC regulars are likely well aware of who he is, others might remember him from these stories that came out during the Ontario election:

A couple of days ago, Van Hamme found himself in a dialogue with Cameron who was using an alternate Facebook profile:

It's clear that Van Hamme had been annoyed with Ronny for some time and this exchange seems to have been the straw that broke the camel's back since soon after he posted a video slamming Ronny as an idiot:

Van Hamme certainly has a bit of an ego himself based on how he characterizes himself, and I'm not sure I'd be so uppity in touting my journalistic credentials if I considered an interview with "Dimitri the Lover" to be a significant coup:

Still, it's hard to argue with Van Hamme's characterization of Ronny.

It wasn't long before Ronny caught wind of the video. He responded in a dignified, measured, mature, manner befitting his self-proclaimed status as the face of white nationalism in Canada.

And by dignified, measured, and mature, I mean an hour and forty-minute profane dis track because Ronny gotta Ronny.

The video is too long to post in its entirety so I have currently cut it into 14 clips. I may very well come back to the this article at a later date to edit for the juicy stuff, but I'm tired and cranky so I'm making you sift through it all if you have the stomach. My personal favorite part though was when Ronny started bragging about his 130 IQ based on an online IQ test. I'm sure many readers have done these tests as well. I've done several in the past for shits and giggles and my IQ ranges from 120 to 250 based on these tests. Now a 120 IQ might not be out of the question, but I am not so arrogant to believe I have a 250 IQ. Suffice it to say I have come to question the scientific rigor of IQ tests that my mother shares on Facebook:

By this point in the evening a lot of people who monitor the far-right in Canada have noticed that Faith Goldy has submitted forms and is running for mayor of Toronto:

Ms. Goldy joins the long list of far-right, neo-Nazis, and run of the mill racists who have decided to throw their hat into the political ring....

.... and she is most likely doing it for the exact reasons that others of her ilk have as well:

Already the following have announced their respective, and ultimately futile, runs for public office:

• Perennial candidate Paulie has announced he is running for mayor of Hamilton which genuinely surprised me since I thought he was still living in Mississauga.
• Kevin "Poodle" Johnston is running for mayor of Mississauga.... though even he seems confused as he had withdrawn his candidacy for mayor of Mississauga and registered to run for Ward 9 Mississauga city councilor only to withdraw his candidacy to be a city councilor and register to run for mayor again.
• James Sears, creepy as ever, is a candidate in the Toronto mayoral race as neo-Nazi and convicted murder Chris Brosky.
• Don Andrews may take another crack at mayor so long as he's the only candidate with a last name that starts with the letter "a." If not perhaps his mini-me Bob Smith will run?

Now Faith Goldy joins this august group by running for mayor of Toronto.

These people are running not because they believe they have a chance of winning, though I suppose some might have been able to delude themselves. In general they run so that they get publicity and support, albeit from the fringes, and thus more people who might be able to make donations. And of course many of them are narcissists who just want others to pay attention to them and to take them seriously.

I would prefer not to pay attention any of them, but I also can't help but think that this offers and opportunity for us as well:

ARC has run contests in the past in which our readers have either taken an existing political poster and modified it or have created an entirely new one. All of these have focused on making fun of Paul Fromm's efforts, such as the one from his 2014 campaign for major of Mississauga.

As I was pondering Ms. Goldy's entry into municipal politics, I thought that maybe we might hold the contest once again, though expand the reach somewhat.

What I am proposing is a two part contest in which the winner will be awarded $100 for creating the most informative AND political poster mocking any one of the following candidates:

• Faith Goldy, Toronto mayor
• James Sears, Toronto mayor
• Kevin "Poodle" Johnston, Mississauga mayor
• Paul Fromm, Hamilton mayor

When you have created your poster, send it to the following email address:

From those that have been sent, I and a jury will pick the best example of each far-right candidate. I will then inform those who have made the short list. These short listed posters will be published to the blog. The deadline for this part of the contest will be September 3 to September 14.

Now this is where the contestant and ARC readers will help to determine the winner.

Each poster posted somewhere within the city or ward the candidate running in will be considered as a vote for that poster. A photo of the poster sent to the above address will constitute evidence and will be counted as a vote. The designer of the short listed poster may put up as many as he or she like and any reader can do the same. Part 2 of the contest will go from October 8 to October 19.

Rules that I expect to be followed:

• Provide facts AND funny
• Nothing illegal or promoting anything illegal
• No encouragement of violence
• Nothing sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or racist

In short, feel free to be an asshole, but use some common sense and don't be a dick. Make fun of these clowns because they deserve it and because they hate being laughed at.

Because I'm spit-balling this all as I write it I reserve the right to change dates as needed to to include other information that I didn't think of initially when setting out the rules and conditions. I might also have to speak to a lawyer to make sure that this contest is legal since part of it involves some public postering.

Eric Brazau: Islamophobe, Racist, and Liar

On June 21, the following flyer was found on the notice board of a Toronto public library:

The person who posted the flyer did not have permission from the library staff to do so. The flyer itself was also a bald-faced lie:

The person responsible was Eric Brazau:

Eric Brazau has been discussed a number of times on this blog as well as in the MSM with regard to what can be described as blood libels directed towards Muslim-Canadians and Islam in general:

• Muslim prayer issue reaches boiling point at Peel board meeting
• Police investigate anti-Muslim rally outside Toronto mosque and alleged hate speech inside
• Protesters oppose anti-Islam group at city hall
• Dueling protests, one anti-hate, the other anti-Islam crowded outside London city hall
• How anti-racism town hall gave hate-mongers an outsized place at the table

He is also an associated of other hate-mongers including Ron Banerjee, Kevin "Poodle" Johnston, Lynn Redden, and formerly Sandra Solomon before their falling out:

Brazau tried to justify his lie when challenged by James Sears' associate Lawrence McCurry:

First, when Lawrence McCurry appears to be the rational person in the discussion, that says a great deal about the character of the other person. Second, what?!?! 

I could go on and on about Brazau's Islamophobic antics, but it should suffice it to post only a few recent examples for those who aren't familiar with him. First regarding the attack in Toronto that left 10 dead and 16 injured, Brazau posted the following:

When challenged....

.... Brazau didn't respond.

Probably because the attack was perpetrated by someone more in line with Brazau's ideological viewpoints.

He also posted the following criticism of the British and Canadian governments regarding their respective immigration ministers:

What is clear is that Brazau is anti-Muslim and that he views every Muslim as an extremist.

But don't for a moment think that he rejects religion playing a primary role in government decisions so long as it is the religion that he subscribes to. 

As Brazau writes above, he was a candidate in the most recent Ontario election running as a candidate for the fringe Cultural Action Party:

However his post on June 4 also hints that Brazau has embraced racial animus. Other posts seem to confirm this:

Doug Ford and the Proud Goys: Yet ANOTHER White Nationalist Connection

ARC has already published articles that connect the Progressive Conservative Premier-designate Doug Ford to a host of white nationalist groups and individuals.

Well we can now add another group that Doug Ford inexplicably (if one wishes to be generous) doesn't seem to mind being associated with:

Readers may remember the last article ARC wrote about regarding the Proud Goys, a short-lived breakaway faction of the Proud Boys. On July 15, 2017, members of the Proud Boys attended a rally in support of the military douchnozzles young gentlemen who disrupted a First Nations' ceremony in Halifax on July 1. And among the other participants was Paul Fromm who managed to waddle to the nearest megaphone because Paulie has to promote Paulie:

Updates on Proud Boys Brandon Vaughan and Robert Jones, Meir Weinstein, Faith Goldy, and Doug Ford

We certainly weren't the first to report that Brandon Vaughan, a member of the Proud Boys, had been indicted for assaulting a Palestinian-American last spring in Washington D.C., but he was on our radar first for his participation in a number of Islamophobic protests, including one in Calgary organized by the Worldwide Coalition Against Islam:

Vaughan was one of three men (two of whom were Canadians) who are alleged to have assaulted Kamal Nayfeh, 55-year-old community college professor from North Carolina. Vaughan had been with the JDL outside the annual meeting the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference when he, Yosef Steynovitz of Thornhill, ON and Rami Lubranicki of Howell, N.J. when the incident occurred. Vaughan had been indicted by a grand jury and when he failed to appear a bench warrant was issued for his arrest:

The charge of assault with significant bodily injured while armed carries a statutory maximum of 30 years in prison, and if convicted of the hate-crime enhancement, the penalty would increase to 1.5 times that amount, or 45 years.

Vaughan has been pretty quite since April. I wonder why?

On this blog ARC has noted Vaughan's fondness for Faith Goldy with whom he has taken more than a few "selfies" with:

As a supporter of the JDL, one has to wonder if Vaughan's support for Goldy will continue or, if like his fellow Proud Boy member Robert Jones, he'll reject the JDL since Meir Weinstein has finally noticed that Goldy has a penchant for Nazis:

Now Goldy recommended the book back in April so Meir is a little late to this, but better late than never I suppose. It should be noted that Goldy worked with Gavin McInnes, the founder of the Proud Boys who himself went on an antisemitic rant while employed by "Rebel Media"; Weinstein appears to have rationalized this though, as did the Proud Boys who attacked anyone who commented unfavorabley on their founder:

I also mentioned Robert Jones who despite having had supported the JDL in the past, broke off his relationship because the alpha male's widdle feeling were hurt. Well he's now now back to his old self and is busily advocating for the murder of police officers, magistrates, politicians, and the Queen because Tommy Robinson is an idiot and violated his court conditions and was arrested:

May 2018 Bits and Bites: Goudreau, Proud Boys, WCAI, Myatt, Cameron, and Faith Goldy

May is not yet over but it has been busy. As such I decided to combine some of the smaller stories I had been collecting and compile them into one large article. It is long but, believe it or not, I haven't included everything.

Before I start, this afternoon members of Atalante attempted to intimidate "Vice Canada" journalists in their Montreal offices (see here for the English language and the French language accounts of the incident). Ultimately their efforts were pretty weak, but it does indicate that groups such as Atalante and others are becoming more brazen as little is seemingly done to keep such hate groups in check:

Now, getting into the "lighter side" of the news so-to-speak, it looks like Kevin "No Show" Goudreau still thinks that he is the leader of all Canadian hate groups and is trying to give orders to the Soldiers of Odin:

We also learned about how dishonest some of the people we cover here are, including middle-age Proud Boy Robert Jones:

This image was debunked long ago however it continues to make the rounds. It doesn't surprise me that Jones would be fooled, but when other tell him the origin photo Jones' response is telling:

Yep. He now knows it is a lie but since it defames the reputation of people he disagrees with, he's going to use it still.

And that is, in a nutshell, all one really needs to know about the integrity of Robert Jones.

I haven't written much about the WCAI lately, though they appear to be planning some rallies this summer. However ARC has certainly been on Joey Deluca's and Jesse Wielenga's collective minds:

No, I'm not Dena Gallant and quite frankly I'm rather insulted as I believe myself to be far more witty than her. Then again I also know that me telling them this won't change their minds. Hell, others are also now certain that I'm Dr. Barbara Perry and I'm quite certain she has better ways to spend her time than on this blog (that said, I've had the opportunity to chat with Dr. Perry and she is very nice).

It is interesting that Joey et al believes the person who runs the ARC YouTube account is Ms. Gallant though since she has given Steven Myatt some grief regarding his efforts to sue Justin Trudeau for treason (yes, this is a real thing). It also turns out that Myatt can't stand criticism and is a bit of a drama queen:

So Myatt asks his very loyal followers if he should keep going or quit. Considering his audience he must have known what the outcome would be which means that this question is simply a request for his followers to stroke his ego:
