"Cobbsville Redux" or "The Sequel is Usually Worse Than the Original": Part II

When we last looked at Craig Cobb's North Dakota efforts, he had set his sights on a new town. Antler, population 20 (give or take) is just a hop, skip, and jump over the Canadian border and a 50 minute drive from this writer's home town. Unable to resist attention, he publicly announced his intentions on Stormfront which was picked up by local, state, and eventually national media.

Since that announcement, Crusty the Cobb appears to have grown smug assuming that no one will be able to thwart his masterful plans this time. He even started taunting the folks in Leith, the town he first tried to take over and where he was ultimately arrested. Cobb seems to now believe that he will be able to have his conviction thrown out, the inhabitants of Leith arrested for persecuting him, and the sheriff's department stuck with a civil lawsuit for an unconstitutional arrest:

 

We had thought that "Antler, ND" might be Cobb, though we're now leaning towards it being Deborah Dutton. No matter. The world is Craig Cobb's oyster.

Canadian Bonehead Response to Charleston Church Murders

When the "National Post" published the article focusing on Paulie's involvement with the Council of Conservative Citizens (CoCC), the hate group that inspired the murder of 9 men and women at Mother Emanel, his friend and fellow CoCC supporter Jared Taylor noted that the story wasn't so bad:

While it is pretty funny to witness just how disconnected with reality that boneheads can be, the murders in Charleston really did bring out the worst in a lot of those who we cover here on the blog.

Our readers will no doubt vividly recall Craig Cobb's efforts to take over a small, North Dakota hamlet in order to turn it into a White Nationalist enclave. Our readers will further remember the giddy excitement from some boneheads (such as our own Tomasz Winnicki) and the ridicule of the effort by other boneheads. Finally, our readers will remember the absolute disaster of Cobb's attempt to take over the town which ultimately culminated in his arrest and later guilty plea to keep himself out of prison.

When the debacle had passed and he had been released from jail, Cobb suggested that he was done and was going to retire from the movement, at least as a public activist. Considering his desperate need for attention, we never believed him for a moment.

Guess what Craig Cobb is planning to do again?

Breaking: Individual Shot by Police in Calgary During Altercation at Anti-Racist Rally

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: If anyone has photos, especially photos of the individual before the shooting took place, we would ask that photos be sent to arc.collective200 (at) gmail (dot) com.

UPDATE 5: The individual who was shot has been named as Morgan Thompson.

UPDATE 1: We have our first photo of the individual who was shot:

UPDATE 2: According to someone who claims to have witnessed the event as it went down, the individual who was shot was throwing things he was picking up off the street at the police, but he didn't appear to have been armed.

UPDATE 3: According to the police, there was a brief struggle when they approached the man, after which he allegedly, "produced a metal pipe." Shots were then fired at the man who last we heard was in critical condition.

We hadn't heard of any efforts by the boneheads in Calgary or London to hold a march, though we wouldn't have been surprised if they had. Anti-Racist Action, however, did hold a rally in Calgary to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Racism. During the rally there was an incident:

A group called Anti-Racist Action Calgary was holding its annual rally against racism to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination near City Hall.

Members say a man approached them yelling “white power.” He then started walking west along Stephen Avenue.

“He was quite angry, yelling quite loud. And he spat on the ground. He didn’t do anything more he was just yelling at them,” said Ryan Wellicome, a SAIT journalism student who was at the rally.

....

“The police got out of a van that was already there and just started to walk towards him just, I think, to make sure he wasn’t going to get aggressive,” explained Sherry Walford, a Mount Royal University student who witnessed the man at the rally.

Police followed the man to a location across the street from the Hyatt Hotel in the back alley of the Palomino bar. A witness in the hotel tells Global News he saw a police van pull up to the alley, and heard several shots fired. Jordan Cummings says he saw police fire a number of shots.

UPDATE 4: There are people claiming that the individual who was shot, and despite shouting "white power" at an anti-racist rally, is not a white supremacist. We aren't sure how much stock we put into these claims at this time as those making the claim did not provide any corroborating details.

In the meantime, the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team are looking for witnesses to the shooting.  

“We know there would have been a number of people in the vicinity in the buildings nearby and the buildings surrounding the alley where the officer involved shooting occurred, and also just pedestrians walking nearby,” Susan Hughson, Executive Director of ASIRT said.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact the ASIRT southern office at 403-592-4306.

Over at Stormfront, the speculation has been rampant as folks there embrace the usual conspiracies boneheads are wont to believe. Included in this list here are Kyle McKee who suggests setting up a collection for the man who was shot, Craig Cobb, and Bill Noble (all three, incidentally, have spent significant time in jail for their particular racially-based crimes):

It is interesting when considering these reactions, especially in relation to the shooting of African-American youths in the United Stated, something that one of the individuals posting in this thread alludes to and seems to suggest was a justifiable use of force:

Evidently, "Neart" hasn't read the news as three of the four police officers involved appear to have been in training, thus were not "highly trained." There is also a photo of a pipe which the police allege was used in the incident. 

UPDATE 6: Information about Thompson is still sketchy, but one person posting to Reddit claiming to know the man who was shot is suggesting that he was not a white supremacist:

I knew this guy. He's not a white supremacist. What he is is an asshole. A loser still living the high school life 12 plus years late.

I don't know him personally but I've seen the other losers he associates with all over social media crying out for undeserved justice.

From what I gather he was "trolling" and "goofing" with those at the rally. Cops wanted to ask him questions and he bolted. Cornered him in an alley and shot him. Metal pipe? They claim it was a bike seat.

I don't really care about the story or the guy. Apparently he is in a long term relationship with a woman of another race.

Until more information is forthcoming, we've changed the title of the article to fit our current understanding of what occurred yesterday.

Frazier Glenn Miller, Supporter of Craig Cobb, Suspect in Kansas City Murders

Like a lot of people who learned about the three murders that took place in Kansas City today, we assumed that hate was a motive especially when reports that the shooter had been shouting antisemitic epithets during the shootings. The first image of the suspect wasn't very clear, however a second one we found online caused us to wonder if he was someone who we might actually know of:

Frazier Glenn Miller has been mentioned on this blog on a number of occasions, mostly as a result of his relationship with Craig Cobb who is currently still in jail due to his activities in Leith, North Dakota. In fact Miller's last post on VNN where he is a long time member and a frequent poster (using the name, "Rounder") was concerning Cobb:

Miller was also the first whom we know of who announced that Cobb had fled Canada after the latter was arrested and charged under Sec. 319 of the country's hate crime laws.

In addition to his promotion of Cobb and his failed efforts to turn Leith into an all "White" enclave, Miller was a very vocal supporter of racist serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin who was executed earlier this year:

Oh, you are going to hear a lot about this one! This isn't some guy who was hiding in the shadows. This was a clown that had served notice on society publicly and loudly for over 30 years.

You know, we have to admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Sebastian Ronin of the grandiose sounding Renaissance Party of North America. Sure, he's an unjustifiably arrogant bigot with delusions of grandeur, but when he is able to provoke reactions from boneheads such as this particular Rhodes Scholar, one can't help but be just a little appreciative of the work he is doing:

Later, the masked narrator in the above video did a public reading of James Thurber's "The Night the Bed Fell" at the New York Public Library.

Ronin is a bit of a shit disturber. And he's really proud of that notoriety. When the White Man March inevitably failed and the few participant were mocked by.... well.... almost everyone who was even aware of the effort in the first place, Ronin couldn't help saying, "told you so" in as wonderfully dickish a way possible:

John Beattie, former leader of the Canadian Nazi Party, current spokesperson for the British People's League (which exists solely as a website and YouTube channel), and fading, doddering, relic of a bygone era desperately trying to claim relevancy in a movement that has LONG passed him by, was overjoyed by the "massive" success of the march. Still, one has to keep in mind that he also has spoken of the avalanche of interest in his efforts as evidenced by the fact that his, "youtubes" have been watched by dozens of people. Still, Beattie was disappointed that there was no march held in Canada, though he didn't know at the time that there were in fact two marches.

What does it say about ol' Sebastian here that he continually "likes" his own posts on Facebook?

Yep, Craig Cobb has pleaded guilty to one charge of felony count terrorizing (along with a firearms ban) in exchange for the other five terrorizing charges being reduced to misdemeanors. The reality is, and it's a shame it happened because we think the case against Cobb was a strong one, that a plea might have been necessary if Cobb was to face any sort of punishment. The case was undercut by a few individuals in Leith as well and the village's webmaster who acted in a way that was.... shall we say counterproductive? Yes, counterproductive works here.  In the end, this case is as much a lesson on how not to act when dealing with boneheads such as Cobb as it is in how to fight them.

But it also looks like Cobb, who thought he was getting out of jail that day, might be cooling his heels a little bit longer than he though. When he fled Canada after his arrest on hate crime charges, Cobb thought he was pretty clever and bragged about his "escape." It would seem that "escape" has come back to bite him in the as now:

Instead of accepting a plea agreement, South Central District Judge David Reich ordered a presentence investigation and deferred the matter until he gets that report. He said he wants to know more about the hate crimes charge that Cobb fled in Canada and the terrorizing incident.

That report could take weeks, up to another month, so Cobb was escorted from the Burleigh County Courthouse back to the Stanton jail, where he’d optimistically packed up and signed out earlier in the day.

We hadn't planned on writing another entry in our Cobbsville series, however the following brief message was left in the comments section of Part V:

We can't disappoint our fans now can we?

Since our last post on the subject Craig Cobb (who having shaved and gotten a haircut is looking far less like Krusty the Kobb now) begun....

.... and concluded a hunger strike. Had his bail set at over a million dollars which he could not pay and then set at a much lower amount which he still could not pay (we wonder why his "millionaire" friend, the convicted sex offender who founded and runs the White Nations forum, can't seem to help Cobb out)....

 
....pathetically begged for the charges against him be dropped on the promise he would leave North Dakota forever, sold a number of the properties he purchased in Leith, and had his most trusted ally turn against him in return for agreeing to testify against Cobb.

In short, Cobb appears to be hooped.

Now are readers know that as a result of living in Canada for 5 years a number of decades ago, Craig Cobb was able to apply for and receive Canadian citizenship. But except for those 5 years and the couple of years he lived in Vancouver after being deported from Latvia, his fidelity to this nation might be somewhat in question.

The Failure of "Cobbsville" Part V: Misanthropy

By now our readers might need to be reminded why this blog, which almost exclusively focuses on the racist movement in Canada, is paying so much attention to the Craig Cobb fiasco in Leith, North Dakota.

Remember when Cobb, not long after his arrest, said that if the charges were dropped he would not only leave North Dakota, but that he would like to leave the the United States as well?

Guess where it looks like he might want to return to:

Cobb, who during his brief stay in the country back in the 1970s applied for and received Canadian citizenship, might have decided it would be better to face Canadian hate crime charges than up to 35 years in a federal prison in the country of his birth.

We had opined that we were not overly concerned with Cobb's efforts to take over the small village of Leith when we first learned of the effort in August (which isn't to dismiss the stress the poor folks of the town must have been going through). In the end, we knew it was going to crash and burn. Still, even we didn't expect just how epic the failure would be.

We could post all of the screenshots of the infighting, the accusations and counter accusations, and the general sense of despair and anger that is on full display on the White Nations, VNN and Stormfront forums, but instead we'll just direct you to click on the links here, here, here, and here. The reality is that instead of reinvigorating the racist movement with a, "bold new strategy", it has resulted in a massive rift in the movement and exposed those who support and promote the ideology as anti-social misanthropes.

Because you see Craig Cobb isn't the only misanthrope.

The Failure of "Cobbsville" Part IV: In the End, It's Not Really About Cobb

Since the last post on the subject a few things have happened. Cobb and Dutton were denied bond. Cobb began a hunger strike (he was taken to the hospital today for an evaluation). He has filed a human rights complaint against the attorney general of North Dakota claiming he has been discriminated against. Finally, Cobb has promised that, in exchange for dropping charges against him, he will leave North Dakota forever.

All in all it's been a busy week and a half for Cobb and his friends.

We had stated in an earlier post that we really didn't expect much out of Cobb's efforts and that it would inevitably collapse around him. Despite the initial hopes of his supporters, even most of them have come to realize how disastrous this initiative was. His detractors on VNN and Stormfront have been ripping into Cobb and his allies on the White Nations forum have been at a bit of a loss to explain how things have turned out, suggesting that Cobb might be mentally ill or suffering from dementia.

But really, whether Cobb had initiated this effort or someone else, it was going to fail because of who it attracted. In fact this case really is a shining example of what the, "White Nationalist" or "White Separatist" movement really is all about. In that sense Cobb is a bit player in the drama he created.

Let's take a look at the two adults who have stuck it out with Cobb to support our case:

The photo above was taken and used in a story about Cobb's efforts to take over the little village of Leith, North Dakota. The men featured in the photo were all, at least at the time, had all movedto Leith and were committed to the Cobbsville project.

A few days ago, a racist serial killer named Joseph Paul Franklin who murdered upwards 22 people because of their ethnicity or because they were in a interracial relationship, was executed. Among these victims was Mercedes Lynn Masters, a 15 year old girl whom Franklin had a relationship with; a sex trade worker, Franklin murdered her when he learned that she had black customers. He also killed two hitchhikers because one had a black boy friend. In another case he murdered two black cousins, ages 13 and 14, by bravely shooting them from an overpass.

So of course these and other cowardly murders makes Franklin a man worthy of high esteem in the mind of one Bill Noble:

But then Bill isn't the only person mourning the "loss" of Joseph Paul Franklin:

Glenn Miller here actually had a long running friendship with Franklin and was frequently in communication with the man even up to the day of his execution.

We mention this incident to indicate both the character and judgment of both Noble and Miller because in addition to lionizing a murderer as a martyr for the, "white race," they also both support no jailed Craig Cobb's efforts in North Dakota.

Now these last screen shots are actually a good starting out point for the article that follows

Prior to his and Kynan Dutton's arrest this past weekend, Cobb posted a message on the White Nations forum:

We would like to note the very specific language used in this particular screen shot. The specific time, number of individuals involved, ethnicities, genders, and approximate ages are provided. Cobb also claims that his two housemates, Albert Borgmann (Freddy) and Kynan Dutton were witnesses who were able to provide these details; Borgmann catching the vandals in the act and Dutton suggesting that he saw the trucks driving away from the incident followed by members of the town thus implying that there was some sort of conspiracy.
