Trump Train Derailed: Canadian Supporters Respond

You would have to be living under a rock to not be aware of what has become known as the "Trump Tape" in which Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks about sexually assaulting women on a hot mic:

In part as a result of the tape and, perhaps, his crude dismissal of it as mere "locker room" banter, Trump has seen his support collapse. Though things could change between now and November 8, it seems very unlikely that he will be the next president, despite what his supporters believe.

In Canada, Trump is generally reviled by most Canadians despite their political leanings. But that doesn't mean that he is without support in Canada, albeit from a relative fringe component of the population. Many of those Canadian fringe Trump supporters, both individuals and groups, are well known to our readers.

We're sure that our readers will not be in the least surprised that Ron Banerjee loves him his Trump.

This may be in part owing to Trump's statements regarding Muslims and Muslim-Americans, though if it is possible Banerjee is even more extreme in his views:

Banerjee often combines his hatred of Muslims with his violent misogyny:

It then should not surprise our readers that not only does Ron Banerjee continue to support Trump, but has threatened women with retribution should Trump lose the election as a result of their vote:

PEGIDA Canada Reaction To Orlando

It goes without saying that the mass murder that took place in Orlando last week horrified all decent people. Whether the murder was motivated by an extremist interpretation of Islam, homophobia, or a combination of all of the above and aided by a gun culture that permeates much of American political discourse, the murder of 49 human beings (with 50 injured) was a terrible tragedy.

Of course, there are those out there who would use the tragedy to further their own agenda.

It's sort of hard to take Ron Banerjee seriously in light of a long history of homophobic statements and online post (see here, here, and here as only a few examples). It's even less believable when, only a day before he posted on Twitter attempting to promote himself as a fighter for LGBTQ rights, he emailed the following to Gerry Lincoln (yes, THAT Gerry Lincoln) who forwarded the exchange to us:

Not to be outdone, fellow Trump supporter Paul Fromm also offered his $0.02 which also includes Southern Ontario Skinhead member Dan Hall also contributing his thought.... if it could be characterized as such:

And then, there's PEGIDA Canada.

April 2016: Bits and Bites

Not long ago we reported that Richard Warman had taken an interest in James Sears and "Your Ward News," noting that when Mr. Warman takes an interest in a hate group and its members, said hate groups members usually come to regret Mr. Warman's interest in them.

For immediate release                                                      April 22, 2016

TORONTO – Don’t help spread hate.

That’s the message to Canada Post and the Government of Canada: stop helping to distribute a racist, homophobic, misogynistic, Islamaphobic and anti-Semitic tabloid to the homes of thousands of Toronto residents.

The broad coalition of citizens and anti-racism activists – which doesn’t have a name yet – welcomed the action of Ottawa human rights lawyer Richard Warman, who today formally filed a complaint that Canada Post and the federal government have violated multiple sections of the Canadian Human Rights Act. Warman’s complaint can be viewed here

“Richard Warman is one of the most successful human rights litigants in Canadian history,” said Bernie Farber, Executive Director of the Mosaic Institute. “He has won a dozen human rights cases he brought against various neo-Nazis, white supremacists and hate groups. We are very confident that Richard will be successful when this complaint is heard.”

For months, the coalition of citizens and activists have been trying to lobby Canada Post and Judy Foote, the minister responsible, to stop distributing a tabloid called Your Ward News. Reportedly distributed to nearly 80,000 homes in Toronto, Your Ward News regularly promotes Holocaust denial, anti-gay and anti-women hate, and flagrant racism. Canada Post has refused to act, however, and the Crown corporation has continued to take undisclosed sums to distribute the hateful rag to people who don’t want it.

The postal corporation has threatened to discipline or dismiss Canada Post workers who object to delivering the extremist tabloid. CUPW earlier this month filed a Regular Grievance with their employer over being forced to deliver “an anti-worker, anti-people, racist, sexist and homophobic publication.”

Your Ward News is edited by James Sears, who has in the past pleaded guilty to sexual assault, and lost his licence to practice medicine for sexually assaulting patients. Sears is an unabashed Hitler enthusiast, and has called the gas chambers at Auschwitz a “lie.” Other contributors to Your Ward News include Gary Schipper, a former leader of the neo-Nazi Heritage Front, who served time in jail for refusing to take down the Front’s telephone hate messages.

“It is outrageous that Canada Post and those responsible in government have turned a blind eye to the hatred that is found on every page of Your Ward News,” said Warren Kinsella, a lawyer and resident of the Beach who wrote the book Web of Hate. “We have tried repeatedly to get them to act, but they have refused. We are hopeful that Richard’s formal human rights complaint will help change that.”

The coalition is made up of a diverse group:

• Walied Soliman, a lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright
• Jaime Watt, chairman of Navigator Ltd. and a leader in the Toronto LGBT community
• Lisa Kinsella, Executive Vice President of the Daisy Group
• Bernie Farber, Executive Director of the Mosaic Institute and former CEO of Canadian Jewish Congress
• Derek Richmond, Third Vice President, CUPW Scarborough Local
• Barbara Joy, public and government relations consultant and East Toronto resident
• John Wright, pollster and public affairs executive
• Ian Davey, former Chief of Staff to the Federal Leader of the Opposition
• Jill Fairbrother, principal of Fairbrother and Partners Inc.
• Kelly Fairchild, a feminist and East Toronto resident who has organized a petition against the hate rag
• Judy Csillag, Canadian Race Relations Foundation

So far the story has been picked up by a number of msn publications:

Also owner of "Your Ward News" LeRoy St. Germaine has been making overtures to other hate groups

Oh, we are going to have SO much fun with our next article on the Soldiers of Odin.

Speaking of hateful people, Ron Banerjee.

Really, we almost don't have to write any more. But we will.

That Banerjee hates Sikhs as much as he does Muslims isn't new to our readers. What is new is that he is now sending out press releases justifying physical attacks against Sikhs in Canada.

Banerjee is suggesting the attack on a Sikh man in Quebec was a direct result of Sikh terrorism (though his first point equating requests for reasonable accommodation with terrorism might be a bit of a stretch) and that the men who engaged in the attack should be praised:

Yep, there's video.

Note how brave these men really are:

Yep, drunkenly berating someone with racial taunting, then ganging up three on one to assault him, sure struck a blow against terrorism.

But then this isn't the only problematic video for Banerjee.

A little over a month ago, Banerjee decided that he was going to engage in a little bit of street preaching:

This video was taken by a person who posted it on reddit. Evidently one woman, not appreciating being told to cover up and dress modestly by a bunch of misogynistic assholes. took matters into the own hands and flashed them. The first street preacher was apparently so upset by being subjected to secondary sexual characteristics that he left the scene.

Banerjee? Well, we're sure he was torn. On the one hand he hates women. On the other, he's a sexually repressed pervert.

So what's a sexually repressed, misogynistic, pervert to do in this situation?

Creepy perv for the win apparently:

Oh yeah. We probably have mentioned it already, but Banerjee also loves him some Trump.

Finally, in news that will surprise no one, we've learned why Hitler-loving Buddhist and Fromm supporter ($$$) has been quite for a while. [NOTE: Thanks for catching the spelling error]

He was committed:

Sigh....

Look, we genuinely feel badly for anyone suffering from bipolar disorder. But we would hope that Mr. Ruhe would perhaps take some time to consider that believing Hitler as a spiritual guru might lead a few to reasonably consider that you've taken leave of your senses.

March 2016 Bits and Bites: PEGIDA/JDL Protest Bust, Your Ward News in Warman's Cross-hairs, and Free Dominion News

We'll be posting an article detailing Canadians United 4 Canada's links to racist boneheads and an article to be published soon, but in the meantime we thought we would provide our readers a little bit of irony today:

But we do digress.

When we reported that the JDL was holding an event featuring PEGIDA UK speaker Paul Weston, we noted that there were plans to protest outside the location where the presentation was taking place.

Ron Banerjee, noticing that we had provided details about the counterprotest, claimed that his one man organization Canadian Hindu Advocacy and his mostly one man organization Rise Canada would discuss providing security for the event.

The JDL's Meir Weinstein, a man who has helped to promote Banerjee in the past and who has also both justified and refused to condemn Banerjee's racist, misogynistic, anti-Sikh, Islamophobic, and now Christophobic rhetoric.... well.... he seemed rather unamused:

The event did take place though and Banerjee did attend, as did it seems at least a few members of PEGIDA Canada:

Three Canadian Racists Supporting Donald Trump: Sort of Funny

This past Saturday Republican primaries were held in Kentucky, Maine, Kansas, and Louisiana. Donald Trump managed to win both Kentucky and Louisiana by fairly comfortable margins. It was amusing then when we listened to the talking heads on MSNBC pontificate on whether or not the endorsement by David Duke would hurt Trump in Louisiana, a state where the former Klan leader was once elected to the state legislature and where he was the Republican nominee for governor.

Of course it wouldn't hurt Trump.

David Duke is only the most prominent American racist to come out in favor of Trump. Others include Jared Taylor of American Renaissance and  Matthew Heimbach who recently was caught on video assaulting a protester at a Trump rally. But Trump is also getting some love internationally from the far right including xenophobes in the UK, France, the Netherlands, and elsewhere.

Here in Canada, the folks with PEGIDA Canada and posters on the anti-Muslim/refugee/government sites we've started monitoring have come out strongly for Trump. So too have members of our racist movement including Paulie. From last month's London Forum where he was a featured speaker:

And a recent post:

On that note, we thought we would profile three other Canadians who support Donald Trump's race to the White House, though it could be easily argued that there influence in the Canadian movement, already on the fringes of society, is minimal to nonexistent.

We sometimes like to amuse ourselves.

PEGIDA Canada Rally Meets With Opposition: Banerjee Demands Opposition Be Shot

Well, it looks like the PEGIDA Canada rally and counter-protest was a rather boisterous affair.

Back on September 13, we posted a message announcing a protest by anti-fascists to take place in Toronto opposing PEGIDA Canada who's organizers announced their rally would take place on September 19. Perhaps ironically, ol' walrus whiskers Sebastian Ronin also released a "press release" to announce his displeasure with PEGIDA Canada for not being fascist enough for his taste and, bizarrely, copyright infringement:

The PEGIDA Canada rally wasn't all that well attended. Perhaps two dozen members/supporters at best. By PEGIDA Canada's own estimates, there were outnumbered by roughly 200 anti-fascists vigorously opposing them.

Not surprisingly though, among the PEGIDA crowd was a familiar face:

Yep, Ron Banerjee. Hey, the dude is drawn to anti-Islam like a moth to a flame. He was attending in his guise of a Rise Canada member and though he seems to have been the only member in attendance whom we could see, Banerjee tries to co-opt the rally in suggesting Rise Canada was an equal partner:

Bits and Bites: August 2015 Not Belated Edition

It's sometimes a tough call on whether or not we should discuss certain individuals on the blog. There are those like "the Goudreau" who seem to court any sort of attention, positive (rarely) or negative (much more frequent) as if the attention validates their importance. Usually the significance that individual places upon himself is in inverse proportion to the actual significance the individual actually has.

Such is the case of Ron Banerjee who, as the head (and likely only member) of Canadian Hindu Advocacy, has been able to fool a number of conservative media types into treating him with a degree of deference that would not necessarily be afforded to him if they realized how insignificant he really is.... to say nothing of the really disgusting things he writes and says about Muslims, Sikhs, LGBTQ, women, and a host of other groups an individuals.

Case in point, last week Banerjee and other members of Rise Canada, the newest hate group that Banerjee has created, protested outside the building where Olivia Chow accepted the NDP nomination to run in Spadina—Fort York.

But to refer to "members" of Rise Canada is perhaps a bit generous of us:

Yep. Two. That's all he was able to muster.

Banerjee later posted a video of himself (or at least the dulcet sounds of his slightly slurred voice) and the other dude harassing the folks entering the building. We won't play the entire video, but this part is somewhat interesting:

Ron Banerjee, André Drouin, and Rise Canada

We had mentioned in our previous article that we were working on a new story. In fact, it's a story that sort of fell into our laps, though initially we didn't quite realize how significant it would turn out to be:

Before being sent the above unsolicited link we had been aware of Rise Canada though we didn't pay it a lot of attention as it was yet another Islamaphobic project of Ron Banerjee:

Ron Banerjee holding pamphlet

We've discussed Banerjee on the blog in the past. He styles himself as the director and spokesman of Canadian Hindu Advocacy, a virulently Islamaphobic "group" which is, for all intents and purposes a one man show. Banerjee attended last summer's Ford Fest where he was heard shouting homophobic slurs at protesters, one of whom he appears to have physically assaulted. And he is occasionally found in the company of the Jewish Defence League

While he has been able to snooker some into believing CHA is actually a legitimate interest group representing Canadian Hindus before his behavior gives him away as a fraud, most people who know of Banerjee know him as a self-promoter with limited influence.

So with this in mind we generally ignored Rise Canada since it seemed simply to be just another one of Banerjee's delusions of grandeur. We didn't even bother looking at the website which we assumed would be as devoid of content as that of CHA.

However one of our members did eventually decide to take a look, again assuming there wouldn't be much there.

That assumption turned out to be incorrect. What we did find took us on a rather interesting ride.

Montreal Pegida March Didn't Go So Well.

When Pegida began to organize in Montreal, we began to keep an eye on what was happening. Unfortunately Quebec remains a bit of a problem area for us in that we have no active ARC members in the province and all the members we do have are hopelessly unilingual.

We did notice though that Pegida announced that it was going to hold a March in Montreal on March 28. The usual suspects on Stormfront were giddy with excitement in the lead up to the event:

Ron Banerjee, our favorite little misogynistic, homophobic, Islamophobic, organization of one chimed in to state that he.... er.... we mean Canadian Hindu Advocacy would also be in attendance in the most charming way a lonely shut-in knows how:

Well Ron, that's a bit of a problematic claim considering there wasn't a march:

More Ford Fest Fallout: Ron Banerjee Focus Of Criminal Complaint

Late last month we posted an article on an apparent assault during Ford Fest. Ron Banerjee, who has been featured on this blog as a result of his virulent Islamaphobia, is seen in a video with his hands around the throat of a protester at the event. Prior to this incident, Banerjee was caught on camera shouting at a group of LBGTQ protesters:

Go home faggots! Go fuck your…. Go suck a dick faggots!

Banergee can be heard saying the above homophobic slur in this video at 5:17.

Given the language used and the fact the protester Banerjee physically accosted was wearing a rainbow flag as a cape (though he himself was not gay), the incident could be reasonably viewed as being motivated by hatred towards LBGTQ people.

Ford Fest Fallout: Ron Banerjee Alleged to Have Assaulted LGBT Rights Protestor

-- Ron Banerjee, July 25, 2014 at Ford Fest (5:18 in video)

Last time we mentioned Ron Banerjee in an article he was acting as the wingman to Islamaphobe Eric Brazau. Banerjee claims to be the head of the largest Hindu advocacy group in Canada he has named Canadian Hindu Advocacy.

The reality is that the CHA seems to consist solely of himself and perhaps one or two others and is simple a vehicle to promote Banerjee's anti-Muslim hatred. Certainly legitimate Hindu organizations have said Banerjee doesn't represent their views and they don't believe his claims about the CHA. And when challenged to put up or shut up, Banerjee always seems to embarrass himself:

A final word related to the legitimacy of CHA. Back in April when we referred to Banerjee in our article, we decided to take a look at the CHA twitter account. At close to 3000 followers, it did seem that Banerjee was at least pretty good at convincing people there was more to CHA than there actually was. Then we decided to look at the legitimacy of the followers. First, we did an analysis of the ARC twitter account:

Seems pretty legit to us. Shall we compare this to CHA's 2800+ followers?

Still, Banerjee's.... er.... CHA's tweets are still quite telling, in that they tell us a great deal about the hatred this man harbors. These screenshots represent just a fraction of those that we could have used from this calender year alone.
